I'm watching Royal Rumble 98. After the Rock's pre-match interview they show a crowd shot, suddenly there's a wipe effect before we go to Howard Finkel in the ring. Did someone hold up a sign that needed to be edited out (considering some of the signs I saw on this show, I doubt that), or was it just like that on the original broadcast? It was there on the original 1998 VHS release. I don't think anything was edited there. The 1998 VHS release also had this weird thing where they cut away from the arena to some room backstage for 2-3 seconds towards the end of Undertaker's ring entrance. Not sure if it's the Network version.

After watching the Wrestling Bios review of Over the Edge 99, I wonder, was JR referring to Hardcore Holly's Falcon Arrow as the "Hollycaust" edited out?

Here's the Wrestling Bios review that mentions JR using that term: (go to 7:17) www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OObDrX8E_k

Too true, and Wrestling Bios' review really reminds me of that. Editing can't hide everything if you look close enough. My original point was, I thought the Hollycaust name was mentioned perhaps in another Holly match, but no...this was it. (I am wondering now if the name originated in WWF, or if it was an ascended fan name. I know RSPW used it a lot around that time)

The contract signing segment on the Jan. 19, 2024 Smackdown episode has an audio edit that removes an off-screen voice. You can hear the person at the 9:05 mark of this video asking for "one more" and telling someone else to "go ahead."

As for RSPW really only time Holly got mentioned back when was either myself or the other Holly fan would post about him. Unless you mean RSPW-M. I never bothered with that group. If I had wanted strict moderation back then I would have posting on the Grand Stand on AOL.

On WrestleMania 12, the opening video has the new music and new voiceover guy from the 2005 WrestleMania Anthology release on the English audio track. However, if you switch to Spanish, you get the original version.

It's never been edited out unless it's been edited in the last two months. We have a thread mention it every few years here, someone's checks and it's still there.

WWE is truly petrified of music labels. On UK Fan Favorties 1993, in the opening segment with Gene Okerlund and Bobby Heenan, Okerlund hums a tune very briefly, followed by a "Mr. Postman." The humming isn't edited, but the "Mr. Postman" part is muted. I assume he sang the phrase rather than speaking it.

On the new episode of "The Best of WWE" released today that is focused on celebrities at WrestleMania, Honky Tonk Man's entrance from WM III is shown with his "Cool, Cocky, Bad" theme added into the footage. On WM III itself, though, that edit isn't there, and he comes out to his original theme ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJdxMwgab0A).

On the Apr. 8, 2024 Raw episode, the underlined part has been removed from The Rock's segment with Cody Rhodes.

I think "That's All Right, Honky Tonk Mama" is a Johnston (Hart?) production anyway. Are they antsy because it's an Elvis parody? (BTW, you can tell it's a WWF creation as the beat is basically what would be remixed into the Bushwhackers theme)

Rewatched WCW Slamboree '96 with some interesting edits and non-edits.
The first time Public Enemy comes to the ring, their WCW theme (which lifts liberally from Ini Kamoze's "Here Comes the Hotstepper") is dubbed over. The second time they come out, it's left intact.
Diamond Dallas Page's "Self Hi-Five" is, as predicted, dubbed over BUT VK Wallstreet's theme - arguably closer to Aerosmith's "Love in an Elevator" than DDP's theme is to Nirvana, is left intact every time its heard.
Finally, Alex Wright's theme which is usually dubbed over is left completely intact.

No Alex Wright theme? Sacrilege! Alex Wright's theme is intact. For whatever reason, WWE Network keeps the majority of the Turner Music Library tracks that WCW used. On WWE Classics On Demand, they replaced pretty much all of them with a few exceptions (Dean Malenko's 1995-98 theme and Rey Misterio's 1996-98 theme, for example).

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kqOPyFOYTUOn the Apr. 29, 2024 episode of Raw, the part of the Nia Jax vs. Liv Morgan match shown from 4:38 - 5:10 in the above video has been removed on WWE Network. To hide the edit, they have taken Michael Cole's commentary lines at 4:39 (welcoming viewers back to the show and saying Jax is in control of Morgan) and moved them to 5:10.
