So, how would you end this incarnation of the DC universe?

Way to go, Snyder. You too, WB.

More and more, it's clear they fell ass backwards into Wonder Woman and Gal and Jenkins made sonething great in spite of the higher ups. Had Wonder Woman not succeeded where every other DC movie failed, the DCEU would cease to exist (whether that's a good or bad thing depends on how well Shazam and Aquaman turn out I suppose).

So, how would you end this incarnation of the DC universe? I'd say with a Crisis, but (a) they're not building up to a multiverse (which could explain all these different versions of the same character perfectly) at all are they, and (b) the real life nonsense is a crisis so let that one do them in at this point..

A sad and expected result. Can't wait for the tell-all books on WB ten years from now.
It's hard to think of a time where so many committed, enthusiastic A-list talents were wasted so terribly on a franchise that had so much potential. Besides Cavill and everything he brought to the role, Amy Adams (who I'd call one of the best living actresses in the world) went in with Lois Lane as one of her dream roles and came out of it visibly just wanting to be done with the whole thing. It takes world-class studio incompetence to kill an actor's passion like that.
They better get their shit together and keep Gadot and Momoa happy, or there's no bottom to how bad it could get.

Agreed with everyone who thinks he was a great choice who was given bad movies. Him actually being Superman was easily the best part of Justice League. Bummer that he’s out.

Marvel should cast him as Hyperion. It'd still be Warners/DC to a degree, but they should do a Midnighter/Apollo movie with Affleck and Cavill.

So, how would you end this incarnation of the DC universe? Do some minor reshoots to simply establish that Shazam takes place in a different universe from the DCEU we've seen so far. Then for Shazam's post-credit scene have some kind of sky portal open up with Billy and Freddy seeing the Gal Gadot Wonder Woman, obviously in rough shape, fall from it. When they get close to her all she can say is "They're gone. They're all gone." From now on all new DCEU movies are centered around Wonder Woman and Shazam putting together a new, less depressing Justice League to save this new world from the fate that befell her old one. Now they can pick and choose which characters they want to keep, recast, or just forget about (for example, keep Jason Momoa if Aquaman does well, but recast Cyborg with someone more interesting, or just drop the character entirely).

Dumb ass move DC. Fans liked him and this dude's name is blowing up huge lately. Haven't seen any of his Superman films yet so can't comment there, but man this seems like DC trying to place blame and find whipping boys. Marvel should cast him as Hyperion. Hyperion. Sentry. Gladiator. A good number of Marvel Supes pastiches at various levels for Oh Boy to sink his teeth into. I'd dig it just for the laughs of it all.

Just reboot the entire DCEU....but keep Gal Gadot.

Yeah, honestly just doin standalone stuff even with Wonder Woman, Aquaman et al is the best option going forward. They fail at this universe shit.

Kinda makes you think that only pushing the best known characters first wasn't a good idea?

They'll do some goofy Flashpoint type deal to explain why some actors are gone and others remain. Cavill would in fact be the ideal Bond though, right out of central casting. I thought so after seeing The Man From UNCLE, even though that movie tanked.

Because when you have a guy that loved being Superman, who most everyone liked in the part and has more star power than ever, you... cut him from the role. Bravo, WB. Truly inspired choice. Maybe the worst part is that the article seems to indicate that the Shazam cameo is what led to them parting ways. A CAMEO NOT HAPPENING. "Hey RDJr. wanna do a cameo in Captain Marvel?" "um.........prolly not." "WE ARE DONE THEN YOU'RE FIRRRRRRRRRRRRRED!" - that's dumb too. What's the Ferratin Male doing in the Impact Zone?

WB is talkin bout Michael B Jordan down the road; which leads me to think they're fulla shit and know there's gonna be backlash and Jordan has the one-two punch of being a respected actor and the possibility of his casting gives the illusion of them bein progressive.
Plus ya gotta think he'd think twice bout bein a "white" hero given the Torch.

This really sucks. He was PERFECT casting, and his heart was in the role. He constantly spoke of wanting to play the real Superman. Glad he sort of got the chance for 5 minutes in Justice League.
