And now Metro Boomin has released a Drake diss "Best Drake diss verse gets on the official version of BBL Drizzy" is incredible. And if Drake's team is leaking his Ozempic & sleeping pills (also used for assault) and literal receipts that he's lying about the ring in the Family Matters video...

Because the one and only source from the domestic violence allegations is a post on gossip messageboard Lipstick Alley. SO much bullshit goes up on their unchecked as "the tea." Given that's the only source, it carries as much weigh as the Tom Hanks child trafficking "Allegations." That said, Kendrick working so closely with Kodak Black has always sat wrong with me and frankly made his last album unlistenable to my ears, but there's nothing to what Drake is talking about here regarding "allegations." I know all about LSA, most of it is clout chasing, but sometimes nuggets of truth come out… Talking about LSA in the Off Topic Forums. Never thought I'd see the day. This whole moment is generational.

Top 3 reasons not to be involved in rap beef:
1) You're not particularly a rapper 2) You've been previously accused of grooming 3) Your opposition is Kendrick Lamar.

Nah i wasn’t talking about that. I was talking about “You’re not a colleague, you’re a …” Oh, that's got nothing to do with world events. That's specifically an Atlanta critique of Drake the same way it was a Houston critique of him when he did the same thing years ago and the Toronto battle scene years before that. Drake went into a city that was on an absolute hot streak in hip-hop, worked with every single artist he could to help his image in every facet and corner of the game so he could get a level of credibility and shine, and once he was seen as part of/affiliated with that getting what he wanted out of it, he moved on to another city/scene to obsess over. Hence "colleague" vs "colonizer," on top of the alliteration, Drake is essentially manefest destinying himself into taking the most coveted resources out of music hotbeds and then leaving without contributing back in any way. I can see how your misinterpretation may have happened, but that's 100% not his intent. Thanks for clearing that up!

This is getting boring now. Almost a whole 24 hours now without a new song smh. Imagine if social media were around for Bad Boy vs. Death Row and Nas vs. Jay Z. The earliest rap beef I remember following online was The Game v 50 Cent/G-Unit. That shit was crazy. There was shootouts outside radio stations, dozens of diss tracks back and forward and they had a big press conference to squash the beef and call for peace then went right back to trashing each other like a week later lol. In fact around that time is the first time I ever heard Kendrick. He was featured on one of Game's mixtapes around 06-07 as a random rookie with the likes of Nipsey Hussle and Jay Rock then they obviously went on to become stars themselves years later.

After 27 hours since the last haymaker, Drake is back with "Heart part 6": youtu.be/HJeY-FXidDQ?si=CCA_nxnGYSoofWfdWarning: Language, content, etc. He sounds kinda bored and presenting like he's over it all and above the squabble. His slant this time: Wow, it's great *I* motivated you to rap again but what a fool you are for tossing wild, wild conspiracies out there (that my friends planted as a matter 'o fact!). And oh yeah, your wife is stepping out and all around. He hand waved away the BIG accusations, but ignored most everything else. At least this beat is much, much better than the song Kendrick rapped on for "Not Like This". Yesterday's drop has ZERO replay unless you try to dissect every response line. "Euphoria" is still the high water mark of creativity and impact in this feud.

It's an absolute bop that's been in the clubs coast to coast all weekend. I think the most telling thing about this latest Drake track is his weird defense of "I'm too rich and famous to be a pedophile. If I was truly guilty, your honor, I'd already be in jail." Like, just absolutely tonedeaf in 2024. It's especially weird as him saying "I never molested children" comes right after him saying Kendrick was molested as a child and making fun of him for it, which is total child molester behavior. And him claiming the daughter story was planted is lame.

I remember when 50 Cent was feuding with Ja Rule, Ja came into the Gamestop where a friend of mine used to work. This was around the time the 50 Cent game came out. The Gamestop had a 50 Cent cardboard cutout that had sound clips of him saying shit. And the story my friend tells me is that it called Ja Rule a "wanksta" when he walked by it and he just stared at it and sadly shook his head.

The best thing to understand when it comes to battling, or moreso just being in this hip hop space, is setting yourself up to potentially lose with some integrity in case you lose. And it comes with you having to play the long game with your career with how you move because that might be all you have if you f*** around and find out with the wrong one. And Drake didn't do that. He's made a career of using the too big to fail strategy, and now the scorpion is stinging itself.

Two things I've realized in the past hour -
1) The "John Stockton" line in Kendrick's "Not Like Us" is Kendrick insinuating Drake is fellow Utah Jazz basketball player Karl Malone, who had sex with a 13-year-old girl. Took me a day to figure that out because I was obsessing on the later verses, but dang that's replay value.
2) Drake had a whole 24 hours to get any Atlanta hip-hop artist or personality to do a verse or a drop to beat the colonizer allegations and instead he just wholly ignored that whole damning third "Not Like Us" verse. One of those "Silence is Deafening" moments if nobody in Atlanta will stand by him.

I'm not sure what's insaner about the Millie Bobby Brown line; that he's throwing out a specific denial that Kendrick never got anywhere close to and bringing on even more questions, or that putting himself onto the Millie fire is still preferrable to try and shift the conversation away from the accusation Drake has a named-in-the-song guy who scouts around for teenagers to bring back to Drake's mansion.

The Heart 6 is absolute garbage.
Kendrick: You’re a pedophile!
Drake: I knew you’d say that Epstein shit! I never f***ed Millie Bobbie Brown!
Like what?! I see people on Twitter saying Drake killed it, best diss yet, Dot gotta come back. The f*** y’all talking about?! Drake brought up two names Kendrick never did, and spent the whole thing going “No I’m not,” and people think that’s a solid defense. Shit is crazy.
Not Like Us is f***ing solid though, people saying the beat ain’t it don’t know what they’re talking about. That’s some west coast fire.

Come on, it’s obvious Kendrick is benefiting from an “oh, he’s a *real* hip hop artist, he’s so socially conscious, not like that shallow and overly commercialized Drake!” perception. He’s already got an in built bias towards him from the highbrow music critics. It’s not exactly a fair fight for the OVO side.

He’s already got an in built bias towards him from the highbrow music critics. It’s not exactly a fair fight for the OVO side. “I like Drake with the melodies, I don’t like Drake when he act tough.” That line remains the encapsulation of the whole feud to me. Drake is a hit-maker he shouldn’t be expected to keep up with a lyricist like Kendrick. That he both seems to think he can and has mostly failed is kind of all on him. Plus, trying to combat the pedophile stuff by saying “I’m too rich to be doing all that and you only care because you were assaulted as a kid,” is not the winning strategy his crew probably thought it was.
