Create a New Idea for The MITB Briefcase

Have the holder stalk the champion everywhere for weeks. I mean at home and on the road too. The champion files a restraining order that only ends at the cash in so the holder just sits at the exact right distance away, taunting them. Then have them cash in off TV so one week the show opens with a recording of like, a plane ride on the way to the town where a title match happened in business class.

Really, though, I like the expiration date idea. The briefcase is good for six months and has a big, digital read-out on the front of it to always remind audience and commentators how many days are left.

Here's some ideas:

-Only one brief case can get cashed in. So We do the men's and women's MitB match. Whoever cashes in first, the other case becomes voided. So not only do you need to pick the right opportunity, you need to do it before the other person does.

-The brief case is for a specific title. No one knows which one until it is cashed in and opened. So, you see the World Heavyweight champ is down, you run out to cash in. The contract is actually for the Intercontinental title! They call down the fresh IC champ and now you have a match with him and not the World Heavyweight like you hoped.

-The contract includes a clause that, win or lose, whoever you cashed-in on gets to pick your next 3 opponents.

I agree. I'm tired of most wrestlers' first world title reigns being the result of waiting like a coward for the champion to be beaten up instead of making their way up the ranks.

In my opinion, King of the Ring should become the Royal Rumble of late spring/early summer, with the winner getting a guaranteed title shot at Summerslam.

I’m still a big fan of my Wrestler A wins it. Airline loses it. Wrestler B purchases it in one of those unclaimed luggage auctions airports have. Wrestler B uses to main event WrestleMania.

Nothing but money…in the bank with that idea.

Whoever is in possession of the briefcase has the right to cash in.
So we see from time to time the MITB holder getting mugged for it, or it becomes lost luggage at the airport and is returned to the wrong person, wrestlers selling it to one another, one faction passing it around among themselves and blocking their opponents etc.

In one of my 2k Universes the MITB holder has to defend the briefcase at least twice a month in an open challenge. Maybe they can add something like that to open up some extra ways to add stories around the briefcase.

I really like this idea. The contract must be defended in a match at least once a month open challenge style, which opens it up to abuse by a heel paying geeks to answer the challenge etc. Plus, it instantly makes things more interesting because it's no longer in your best interest to sit on the briefcase for months on end. It puts a new spin on things and really opens up some possibilities storyline wise.

I would also put in a rule that you cash in the briefcase at gorilla position before you go out, not to the ref at ringside because then we can get away from the stupid shit of "He handed in the case, but the ref hasn't rung the bell" and it adds a logical reason the briefcaseholder doesn't try and cash in after every match the champion has. Gotta be smart about it, and it adds incentive to announce the cash in in advance.

I'd do it similar to Lucha Underground, the MITB holder has to give at least 1 weeks notice so the company can promote it.
