Just link people to this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSe1maLmLUII was like: Yes. This is my "I have a dream." Although the girl cutting off Dolph for a second at the end ticked me off.

I had a hard time getting through that, even though I agree with a lot of it. Came off very pretentious.

I don't need to explain or defend it now. I watch what entertains me, if it bothers someone that badly that's more their problem than mine.

What a great video (although the girl is irritating).

"When good things happen on wrestling they are as good as something that happen on AMC or Showtime."
I do not agree with that at all. Big things happens in wrestling, but 9 times out of 10 it has no effect on the grand scheme of things.

It was funny hearing Nexus presented as this example of a story well told, with how it unraveled.

I think he was more talking about "big moments."

I prefer: "For those who understand, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, no explanation will be good enough"

If you're a wrestling fan, bad or even just mediocre wrestling can still be a very silly, embarrassing form of entertainment. However, the moments they get "right" that really connect with you on a deeper level are unequalled anywhere in entertainment.

The buildup was NXT and the way the WWE made the rookies embarrass themselves on TV, and they banded together and violently destroyed Monday Night Raw. Sure a lot of what came after wasn't great, but that night of the Nexus invasion was my favorite moment ever on Raw.

You have a 3 hour Raw filled with crap, that makes you wonder why you're even still watching the show. Then the last 10 minutes you have this amazing stable debut out of nowhere and changes everything within the WWE. And despite how bad the rest of Raw was, all is forgiven, and all you can talk about is Nexus. And even if the angle falls apart a few months into the future, that moment reminds you of why you're still a wrestling fan.

This is absolutely going to finally convince my father that I'm not insane for loving wrestling.
"It's structured like The Muppet Show!"
........nope, never mind.

It is structured like the muppet show! I'd never noticed. I guess like Larry Sanders too.

The fact that they actually injure themselves whilst performing their not at all respected, not usually very complicated show is the main reason why I can't defend pro wrestling to anyone that dislikes it. They're basically complete idiots for not figuring out a way to not actually get hurt.

In the context he talks about it, The Muppet Show comparison makes complete sense. I think it's a good analysis of why pro wrestling is appealing to us, but I could do without the score and that chick randomly jumping in at the end.

They're basically complete idiots for not figuring out a way to not actually get hurt. I've wondered why they've stuck with the same poorly padded rings for so long. They don't need to get bodyslammed on a moon bounce or something but I'm sure there's some happy medium here where doing some leg drops or taking some suplexes shouldn't leave you sore. Surely by now they can find a way to have impact make a convincing sound without bodyslamming people on wood covered in napkins. Anyone that's seen a ring put together before in person knows what I'm talking about.

I would've liked the video better overall if "chaveliers de sagriel" wasn't playing in the backround. It just made it very pretentious. This is absolutely going to finally convince my father that I'm not insane for loving wrestling. "It's structured like The Muppet Show!" ........nope, never mind. ...what the problem with that. It's a very apt comparison.
