Ugh. Hunter-Reay wins the Championship. Great.
Also, on another downer, Bob Jenkins is retiring after this race.

Power's cursed something bad. 3 runner up finishes in a row, two of them after leading the championship going into the final race.

Man I feel bad for Power but RHR was unreal this season. Congrats to him and Andretti. Also congrats to Ed Carpenter on winning the race. He maybe Tony George step son but Ed has a good head on his shoulders and is one of the best on the ovals.

I hope both of the fans in attendance come down to join the festivities.

Well most of the time anyway. And I just remembered this is Bob Jenkins last race. A voice I grew up with and I'll miss the guy.

Is the crowd ever good at any Auto Club race?
I agree, damn fine race. Really, one of the best seasons I can remember, in terms of racing quality. Even Belle Isle was only bad because of the streets falling apart.

It was really f***ing hot in Southern California today. Even more so in Fontana which is pretty much in the middle of a desert. It was 110+ today. There's no way 100,000+ people are going to stand out in the heat like that for the entire day.

Forgot about the Heat in Socal. Maybe they should try to run this in Mid-Late October? I assume it cools down around then. Should have tried it this year as LA fans wont have hockey to watch...Or anybody....f***.

The farther you move closer to the city, the less and less people care about auto racing, especially if it isn't NASCAR. You have weirdos like me who like both hockey and open wheel over NASCAR and I'd go to races like this, but: 1. Fontana is about an hour away from where I live 2. It's usually way too f***ing hot to even exist from August-Late October out here.

I didn't catch the end of last night's race, but man oh man, was Bob Jenkins' final signoff emotional. That's the last of the mid-90's NASCAR commentary power trio to disappear, and heck, I'm just going to miss his voice in motorsports in general.
