Hi FAN,
I post here rarely, but here's one now.
There's a girl named Mary that I really like, think she's perfect for me, met her through Twitter a few yrs ago.
She lives in Roanoke, Virginia.... I live in Liverpool, England.
We've spoke many times of meeting up eventually, we text a lot daily, kissing/heart/lips emojis and the rest.
She was a lesbian but had a bad experience so she's open to guys, but it appears at least, that I'm her first try so to speak.
we've discussed sexual stuff and we're quite open about that (we're both virgins, but still, discussions have been had)
I seem to fall into this state with many ladies, I'm like Hank Moody, without the actual sex life (ha)
I always think of the quote from Californication
"There’s not a woman that I’ve met that I haven’t fallen in love with, whether it was for 10 minutes or 10 years."
Anyways, she knows how I feel about her, to an extent, and I Googled and we're 3976.2 miles away from each other, I texted her this and she text back: Love can't keep us apart!.
I've never used the word "love", but I always begin to question, plus given my past feelings towards woman (especially and somewhat sadly, people I've only chatted with online, not even to the extent of Mary)
We've discussed either me going there when I find a job and gain the resources, or her coming here once she gains the resources.
I'd love nothing more, I've built it all up in my head, and I can simply assume she's done the same.
But what if..... it's all in my head?
I don't really wanna think about that, because I strongly feel that it isn't all in my head, but I've still gotta flip the coin, no matter how much I enjoy looking at only one side of things....
But yeah, what if?
Advice, Thoughts?, Wisdom?

If you are determined on this, one of you has to find a way to VISIT the other for at least a week. No moving, a visit. You have to remember that if you move there or her to your area and it falls apart, well one of you is f***ed.
Keep that into consideration.

Ah this old thread, anybody else got any contributions or thoughts?, other than one of us visiting the other, do you believe a relationship could be developed via FaceTime/Skype?
Anyone had an experience like this or know somebody similar?

You mean between August 30 2013 and now there's been no movement at all on this? I was once in a situation similar to yours, and we tried Skype and stuff, but sooner or later it just isn't enough. You need some real contact with her. Either way, best of luck to the both of you.

Anyone had an experience like this or know somebody similar? Yes. But I visited her. Once two years ago, and then in January. But there are differences. Still, we talk every day, but now she sees me as being in her life, though it is likely I will have to move there. I am looking for jobs there, to see if that will work. |

I'm a shy person, yes nothing much else has happened in 7mths, other than what was happening already.
I need to overcome that shyness and simply FaceTime/Skype her, I've seen it happen with a lesbian friend of mine, she met her now fiancé on Tumblr who lived in Canada, she went over there and now they're engaged.
Unfortunately neither of us have the money right now to visit one another or we certainly would, so any real strides in the relationship would be made via FaceTime or Skype.
I still feel like there's a a shot there, I do feel really serious about her, I don't exactly wanna date someone because if one of us did get the resources to meet, I'd totally leave my girl for a shot with Mary, but I don't like telling myself that because that's not a nice thing to do, but yeah I would.
For now, as mentioned, FaceTime/Audio/Skype is the only way to establish a connection, but we have texted about deep and serious things, I'll see what happens.
