So this guy stuck out like a sore thumb in WWE. Which is kind of interesting....
My question is do you think this guy should of been a heel? I really think he would of been a great heel instead of dragging out his face character intil his release.

I think he was fine as a face. Didn't he get released because he got hurt again or something related to it?
They were still using him and he was over with the crowd, was doing fine.

He was a goofy supernatural face character which is why he worked (in terms of fans liking him). I don't think he would have worked as a heel because of that goofiness. He was treated pretty tongue in cheek, but if he was heel the commentators and faces would have to act scared of him and...I mean...the guy is too goofy to be scary. Heels being scared of him worked because it got the "Why are you scared of him?!" amused reaction.
If he got rid of the worms and the voodoo shaking and came out with that all red facepaint and black eyes (which genuinely was creepy) he might have worked as a heel, but that's essentially getting rid of all his gimmick.
Plus, he was awful in the ring. He always had a short shelf life.

Kane destroyed him in his last match. As he should have. Novelty factor aside, the guy was atrocious.

In the 90s he probably would've been a heel. Its just that it was so out there in terms of the gimmick and when he came about, that it just seemed right to have heels running scared from him.

Horrible in ring for sure, but I looked forward to what he would do each week.

Boogeyman is right up there with Swagger Soaring Eagle in my favorite things in WWE in the last 10 years.

Terrible in the ring, but I loved him anyways because his charisma was so massive, it got over a gimmick that shouldn't have worked in any way.

He was way too over the top to be anything more than a face really. Not to mention he was awful in the ring so I doubt he would have been able to make any babyfaces shine when he was in the ring with them.
As I've said Boogeyman was as entertaining outside the ring as he was appalling inside of it.

We really do need some more ridiculous characters in the WWE right now.

As I recall WWE did try to hype him as a heel when he debuted, but he was just so goofy and over the top that he ended up being a face because of the crowd reaction alone-kind of like Kurt Angle in reverse. He good for a few minute long filler match, but otherwise he sucked up the house. I though the idea of teaming him with Kane had some potential; Kane could have helped cover for how bad he was in the ring. Oh yeah, and I remember hearing Matt Hardy say he really is a legit WEIRD guy. He told a story about how Boogey used to put his own make-up on, and he would do it staring at himself in a mirror laughing so loud that all the other wrestlers could hear him backstage.

And I'm coming to see if I can join DX.
I still say the WWE screwed up by not running with Boogey, Hornswoggle and Khali as a stable of freaks. When Goldust came back you put him with the group, and throw Mickie or Maria in there as the hot chick that hangs out with them. It would have been a nice midcard stable.

I hope to see him at Raw 1000 and I think some indy group ought to book him as something like "the Thing from Underneath the ring."

Classic Case of "Right Gimmick , Wrong Wrestler".
He was also really old when he joined the WWE if I remember correctly.
