Yep... it's time once again... for me to waste everybody's time with a tournament of some kind! Isn't that just swell?
Well anyway, this time I thought I would do a tournament do determine the greatest of the Final Fantasy series Characters. Now then, this will include pretty much anyone, hell... I'll even throw in a few Final Fantasy Tactics and Mystic Quest Characters.
Now then... here's the list of characters I have in mind so far.
Garland Chaos Firion Maria Guy Leon Emperor Mateus Palamicia Borghen Luneth Arc Refia Ingus Xande Benjamin Kaeli Phoebe Reuben Tristam Dark King Cecil Cid Edge Edward FuSoYa Kain Palom Porom Rosa Rydia Tellah Yang Golbez Zemus/Zeromus Bartz Lenna Galuf Faris Krile Exdeath Gilgamesh Terra Locke Edgar Sabin Shadow Cyan Gau Celes Setzer Mog Strago Relm Umaro Gogo General Leo Kefka Emperor Gestahl Ultros Cloud Barret Tifa Aeris Red XIII Cid Highwind Cait Sith Vincent Yuffie Sephiroth Jenova The Turks (Counted as one) Hojo Squall Quistis Zell Selphie Rinoa Irvine Seifer Edea Laguna Kiros Ward Ultimecia Fujin Raijin Zidane Vivi Steiner Garnet Freya Quina Eiko Amarant Kuja Queen Brahne Necron Tidus Auron Rikku Wakka Lulu Yuna Kimahri Seymour Yu Yevon Sin Vaan Penelo Balthier Fran Basch Ashelia Vayne Dr. Cid Ramza Mustadio Agrias Rafa Malak Orlandu Meliadoul Beowulf Reis Worker-8 Delita Dycedarg Zalbag Altima
Pretty sure I didn't miss anybody important, though I could be wrong. So then, I just need to ahead and set up the first round, then we can kick this thing off.

No need to do this, Ultros wins. (if he doesn't he's surely a shoe in for most comedic octopus in the series ) I can't think of anyone you've forgotten off hand.

Alright, added those three/four, so that means we'll have a few triple threat matches. Nothing wrong with that though. Alright, now then... first round is simple. Three votes to advance. And our opening match is... an interesting one. Freya Crescent (Final Fantasy IX) Freya Crescent, spelt in Japan as Freija, is a playable character from Final Fantasy IX. She is Burmecian, a race of anthropomorphic rats who live in two cities, Burmecia and Cleyra. She hails from Burmecia, but has recently left for Lindblum to partake in the Festival of the Hunt. vs Porom (Final Fantasy IV) Porom is a playable character in Final Fantasy IV. She is a White Mage from Mysidia, and she trains together with her twin brother Palom. She is described as respectful and polite, and she often has to keep Palom in line with both words and force.

I probably should've grouped Palom/Porom together now that I think about it. But it's too late now, Freya sweeps the White Mage. Next Match, another battle of females. Lulu (Final Fantasy X) Lulu is a playable character in Final Fantasy X. She is one of Yuna's Guardians and, next to Auron, is the wisest and most mature of them all. Lulu grew up with Yuna in Besaid. She and Wakka think of Yuna as a younger sister. Lulu's stoic and self-possessed nature makes her seem insensitive at times. She specializes in the art of Black Magic, using various dolls to help cast powerful spells. She is instrumental in helping Tidus adjust to the world of Spira, although she does not fully believe his claim of being from Zanarkand. vs Aeris Gainsborough Aeris Gainsborough, also known as Aerith Gainsborough in the Continuation, is a female protagonist of Final Fantasy VII. She uses a staff as her weapon and wears a pink ribbon in her hair. Having lived in the slums of Midgar for years, she has become street-smart, and has had to evade the Shin-Ra many times. She is portrayed as a independent, outgoing and kind young woman who displays a stark understanding of others at times.

Lulu. I like her. She's the exact opposite of your standard RPG woman.

Aeris manages to send Lulu off with relative ease. Next Match... it's time for the other twin! Palom (Final Fantasy IV) Palom is a playable character in Final Fantasy IV. He is a Black Mage from Mysidia, and he trains together with his twin sister Porom. He is described as a show-off, and is very casual, even to adults. He even describes himself as "The Mysidian Genius." This, combined with his inflated ego, causes him to get a little out of hand, leading to Porom having to settle him down, either using words, slapping him in the face, or yanking him by his ponytail. vs Locke Cole (Final Fantasy VI) Locke Cole is a playable character from Final Fantasy VI. He is a Thief, but he prefers to be called a "Treasure Hunter." In fact, a running gag is that people call Locke a thief and insists that he's a treasure hunter. His Japanese name is Lock.
