I'd have to say Pick your Poison (Jake Roberts).
He keeps going on about how he was the heel and promos that didn't go to plan and scripts and how his dad made him believe it was real. He doesn't outright say 'Wrestling is scripted' but he comes damn close quite a lot.

The Four Horsemen DVD comes close a few times, but about half way through the DVD, they couldn't decide whether they wanted it to be Kayfabe or Shoot. It would be really stupid to see a wrestler talking like it was real, and then have flair or Dillon almost break kayfabe 3 seconds later.

The Rise & Fall of ECW is almost completely out of kayfabe.

The Rise & Fall of ECW is almost completely out of kayfabe. which makes sense. I can't imagine a kayfabed ECW documentary. That would be weird. McMahon is another one of those ones that can't decide whether it wants to uphold kayfabe or be a shoot. Seriously, Vince, before you guys do your interviews for whatever DVD documentary you do, just sit everyone down and figure out if it'll be kayfabe or shoot. I'm tired of having DVDs where its like: Wrestler A: Wrestler B and I had really competitive matches with each other. We both tried our hardest to win. Backstage Guy: Well, we booked Wrestler A to win because blah blah blah. Just blows my mind. And the warrior DVD is shoot.

The Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior took kayfabe out back, shot it, and then urinated allover the corpse in their burial of Warrior.

The DVDs are all intended to be out of kayfabe, but some of the older wrestlers choose to stay in kayfabe. Arn Anderson in the Horseman DVD is a great example, where everyone else is talking about it as a work, but Arn keeps talking like it's all totally legit. Annoyed the hell outta me

The Roddy Piper DVD does that as well. I agree that it is annoying.

I dunno, I love the combination of kayfabe and reality. It's what really interests me about wrestling: where real life ends and kayfabe begins is not always clear to everyone. It's what makes old rivalries better, and typically adds a second dimension to my opinion of the wrestler.
I think wrestling's inherent value lies in its ability to put on a show that f***s with your mind and sense of what part of it is actually a show.

It was especially weird to have other horsemen(Flair, JJ, Tully) to be breaking it, and then have Arn still withholding its integrity

I dislike kayfabe DVDs.
I bought The New & Improved DX DVD not too long ago..that whole thing is kayfabe..I hated the documentary..thing.
There's nothing wrong with the idea of kayfabe..but when you have DVDs that totally break it..and then you release a 3 DVD set that is the total opposite..it makes it look ridiculous.

Bobby Heenan talks about Andre's tangled in the ropes spot on the Warrior DVD.
On the Managers DVD, Sgt Slaughter actually does one interview in kayfabe, the other as a shoot. They were shot several years apart, but it's still fun.

In the World Class Championship Wrestling DVD, Jerry Lawler became the first ever wrestler that I have heard acknowledge the practice of blading in a WWE DVD
I paraphrase....
Kerry wasn't all there before our match at Super Clash III, and he ended up cutting his arm
Now I quote....
"SO WE DIDN'T HAVE TO INCORPORATE THAT INTO THE MATCH"
That was just something that really stood out to me.

It doesn't really matter if they break kayfabe though. I'd assume that most people buying the Piper, Horseman, possibly include the HBK one, all know wrestling is a work. They type of DVDs sell because it is backstage info on what was happening legit. Not what was happening in an angle or storyline, because they will know what happens already. The DX dvd would be marketed at kids who missed the Attitude Era Dx and therefore gives them a perfect chance to entice a new fanbase for DX.

The Bret Hart DVD also broke kayfabe, especially the whole Montreal thing.
The Monday Night Wars also was one of those "some people didn't get the message" DVDs as McMahon and Bischoff pretty much weren't talking in kayfabe, but people like Gerald Briscoe were totally in kayfabe (or he just might be that much of a sychophant.).

Now, come on, you're telling me that, if interviewed for a non-kayfabe DVD, you wouldn't randomly start ranting about killing people and burrying them in the mud or something?
