Have there really been any new and innovative gimmick matches this decade besides the elimination chamber (which reall is just a take on war games)?
Does anyone have any ideas for some? I'm interested...

Ultimate X?
WWE tends to stick to variations of cages.

Chris Jericho in his book suggested a match where you put a line to split the ring in half and count a pinfall/submission only on your starting side

ROH had the scramble cage which was a normal cage with platforms in the corners of the cage.

Was "Judy Bagwell on a pole" done in 2000? Also "feast or fired" is new to my knowledge........(hopefully it will be a distant memory soon enough)

Eh, Money in the Bank is just a ladder match. A ladder match with 6-8 participants, but still, simply a 'climb a ladder and grab XX' match. I'd venture to say TLC is the same, too, since.... well... you don't get DQed for using a Table or Chair in a Ladder match, or a MITB match for that matter so... Only 'new' ideas in WWE are variations of cage matches. Punjabi Prison (Escape one cage, then make the difficulty of the first cage escape increase after X time, then escape second cage), and Elimination Chamber (Six men enter one cage, 4 are sealed away and released in intervals, Last man not pinned or submitted wins) I suppose since you say 'decade' that Inferno match could be considered? Maybe? It happened in '98, right? Although it could be argued that it's not innovative. Same with Buried Alive.

Ultimate X? WWE tends to stick to variations of cages. The Ultimate X is fun, but to be fair... if you're gonna count TNA, they have a million confusing matches too.

Maybe with Jericho back he might implement the idea.

The Inferno match was started in Japan in the early 90's. Just they didn't have quite the same budget as WWE, so they had fire either on the ropes or in buckets on the ropes.

Was "Judy Bagwell on a pole" done in 2000? wasn't that judy bagwell on a forklift??? TNA has come up with some recent gimmick matches. i doubt it would be a problem to creatively amend the matches and use them in the WWE

TLC match. First one was in 2000 right? That was just a hyped-up ladder match. Don't get me wrong-- it was a very good match. But the gimmick was a ladder match, essentially. Most ladder matches have chairshots, and if you throw a table spot or two in there it's a TLC match.

For ECW:
Musical Hardcore Chairs. The music starts ("Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" or whatever) and everyone walks around. The music stops, the wrestlers that don't have a chair have to wrestle using steel chairs.
A little too complex?

there was a weird match ECW had that was Corino vs Credible and i think Lynn vs Sandman (something like that ) both matches were in the same ring at the same time..but it wasn't like a 4 way where anyone could pin anyone you had to pin youre designated opponent...after that both winners fought each other

How about the Hard Ten match TNA had with New Jack and Sandman
