compared to the other WWe shows, is that although Armando Estrada is the "GM" of the show, he hasn't dominated it or shown up unecessarily.
He's like Jack Tunney. Only shows up when necessary. Other than that, ECW is primarily Wrestler A wrestles Wrestler B, here's a backstage promo where the camera is acknowledge, here's another wrestling match, show's over.

from what i'm heard, that's Dusty Rhodes' doing. He wanted a wrestling first show for ECW, which has made Boogeyman obsolete on ECW because it is not his fortay.
I too like it. ECW does still feel mostly like it's own show, not a WWE-lite product despite anything Vince could do.

Estrada's so good, he hasn't been on ECW in like more than a month or two. Come on. Why do they even need GM's? Storyline fodder? I'm sure the kayfabe carousel will keep rolling along without them kayfabing decisions at the wrestlers that kayfabe work for them. That was a lot of kayfabes in one sentence. A record?

When ECW didn't have a GM, people complained and said "Who is in charge? WWE doesn't even care enough to give ECW a GM!" Now, they have a GM and have returned to the same style of booking. I mean, the GM is there just so you know that there is someone in the background with control. Which I appreciate since ECW tends to focus mostly on wrestling (and the tag matches are usually good to great) so the GM isn't needed to fuel stories.

And I'd rather have a seldom to never GM than trying to re-capture the magic of Austin/McMahon again.

I like that Estrada is like Tunney.
Back in the day when Tunney showed up, you knew some big shit was going down.

I would like to see a bit more of the hardcore dictator. That might work if the other two shows didn't have dominating heel GM's.

Say what you want about Jack Tunney....When he walked out, you knew the shit was going to hit the fan. Although his mic work was...well...terrible, I still marked for Tunney.

Although his mic work was...well...terrible, I still marked for Tunney. Well, he wasn't a guy hired for on-air talent. Jack Tunney was just a regular business guy in the industry who promoted & ran shows up in Canada that was rewarded for his years of hard work (I believe he specifically worked a deal to get the WWF exposure in Canada) by being hired, still doing his own business and also becoming a part-time on-air personality. And back then, the figurehead corporate guy was not always showing up and feuding with the wrestlers and winning title belts. THOSE were the days, dammit...
