The Muta Scale is a description of how much a wrestler bleeds during a match. Muta bled a LOT during the match in question, getting a 1.0 on the scale. I believe most people agree that Eddie Guerrero's match at Judgment Day 04 with JBL was also a 1.0.

you know I've heard people say "the Muta scale" but I've never anyone actually use it when describing a match.
"Yeah, I'd say Randy did about a .65 on the Muta scale last night, which may have been a excessive for a non PPV match"
never seen anyone say that

I think it was the last line. Just reading it in a Peter voice makes me chuckle.

I made a joke about this to the paramedics when I got my head busted open at work, and got blank stares. I had to get 6 staples to close the wound.

I haven't seen it yet (I'm stuck on dial-up) so I'm going to ask, and hopefully some of you will know the match I'm talking about. Is it anything like (or worse) than the Terry Gordy - Killer Khan Texas Death Match?

So what was Mass Transit on the Muta scale? hehehehe. Having seen both matches I'd say....probably a 2.0 But seriously.... Watch the match. It's not as gory as you'd imagine it to be and the sight of Hiroshie Hase with a dagger between his teeth is just to awesome to be described.

Closest thing I have seen to this(blood loss wise) is the Jerry Lawler/Kerry Von Erich match; Kerry bled all over the place in that one.
On an aside,I find it amusing how the ref in the Muta/Hase match, when breaking up an illegal action, starts hollering(or sure sounds like he is hollering) "C'mon!C'mon!C'mon!" in English.

Supposedly, that was because Kerry was so drunk/ stoned/ high that he kept blading himself by accident. Slicing open his arms, legs and pretty much his entire body.

I know for a fact that he cut his arm, I don't think he cut anywhere else, besides his head obviously.

Yeah,if you watch the match(I think it is on the Superstars of the 80's DVD set),during the intros you see Kerry constantly messing with his one arm and taking forever to remove his robe;a little after the match starts,Lawler glances at his arm, then quickly grabs it,drags Kerry to the ringpost, and starts smashing his arm against it to cover for the bleeding.

Why don't you just make 1.0 less bloody and make 10 be the top number and make that less bloody?

Why don't you just make 1.0 less bloody and make 10 be the top number and make that less bloody? Because this is the traditonal way to do it

Why don't you just make 1.0 less bloody and make 10 be the top number and make that less bloody? because it's like a percentage. If you bleed the same amount as Muta then you bleed 1 Muta. If you bleed 10 Mutas that would be 10 times as much as he bled (which would be impossible, there isnt that much blood in the body). It's like baseball, if you're average is .500 then that means you've gotten hits half the times you've been up to bat. having a 1-10 scale would be like saying the more you bleed the more points you get.
