Here's a real shot in the dark- 'The Anarchist' Doug Williams. Remember him, the British wrestler from early 02/03 ROH? He's been gone ages, and his nickname kind of fits in with Project 161's gimmick.

Doug Williams made an appearance at two shows in April. He main evented This Means War II (with Nigel, Shima, and Hero) and faced Colt Cabana at Fighting Spirit.
He was well received...even loved...at both shows. So I doubt it's him.

No one mentioned a PWG invasion? A PWG invasion would be...something very funny and light, not something nearly as dark as this.

And it wouldn't make any damn sense, to boot.

I think they're trying to link Steen and Generico to this somehow. But yeah, unless someone has a gimmick change in the works, I don't see it being PWG.
Although I'm still all for a PWG/CHIKARA supercard someday.

Like he squashes a whole series of them and then Quack or Hero gives him an unexpected run for his money. Maybe that's too WWE, though. Anyhow, I'm still holding out for Raver.

Corino? And since this isnt a Northeast Indy based crowd no one said Dan Maff I don't thin we ran Corino out of ROH. I just think he had bigger commitments to fullfill. Dan Maff is still blacklisted unless they seriously want to piss off Homicide. Anyone know why there is animosity between these two? Also, after thinking about it what one group do ROH fans hate? What one group has screwed over ROH numerous times? I'll tell you...... T..........N.............A that'd be a decent invasion if it got ROH tv time

Dan Maff is blacklisted and more or less retired (he worked a show for IWA Puerto Rico a few years ago). If ROH ever wants Homicide back, Dan Maff won't be anywhere near it. Maff's best friend in wrestling (or, rather, his best remaining friend in wrestling) is Ref Hansen at JAPW (also formerly of ROH) and even he doesn't know the whole story. What is known is that Homicide has accused Maff of being a pedophile, and that Homicide has said he won't work anywhere that Maff works.

Well, going by that last blog, once my paycheck comes in tomorrow, I better get ready to drop some cash for 8/25.
I mean, Dragon vs. Morishima is reason enough, but even if it's just a little taste, I want to be a part of this angle.

Just read this from Gerweck: There are rumblings that Paul Heyman's WWE contract has expired or will be expiring soon. Heyman is currently working on movie scripts.
How soon? 8/24 soon?!?!!? PAUL HEYMAN IS THE LEADER!!!

The rumour I remember said that he hit on Homicide's 15 or 16 year old female member of Homicide's family, which sent 'em over the deep end... But this got me thinkin' about early ROH, just imagine what "Towel Boy" Eric Tuttle probably had to do with Feinstein to get to work a few matches.... It's enough to make y'er skin crawl...

It probably won't happen, but Paul Heyman+ROH+Project 161=End of WWE dominance. Pure opinion, but that's what I believe would happen.

If that does happen I will seriously belive that ROH is the new Number 2 promotion in wrestling- quality wise it is number 2 or even 1 IMO, but in terms of how well publiscised it is it's still in the 1997 ECW stage. Project 161 with Heyman and the right talent would send ROH up a long way.

It really wouldn't, since ROH still isn't pushing to get a nationally broadcast show on cable, and doesn't have anywhere near the amount of money behind it that WWE or TNA do.

Though increasing popularity could bring in potential investors, though Wrestling is certainly in look upon as in the dumps so thats a long shot. But its something that might happen.

Personally, I don't believe that ROH would appeal to a WWE-level market.
Most people have short attention spans and zero patience for wrestling matches that go beyond a few minutes and aren't non-stop jam-packed spots or full of gimmicky moves. If guys so much as exchange headlocks, people start crapping all over it.
