-Dana says the UFC is doing the complete opposite of what boxing has done. Will be offering free fights that people want to see instead of "crapty" fights with people no one has heard of. -Guys from TUF will fight on Fight Nights and new talent will be on on Fight Nights and prelims. Lol dana is such a bum, so giving us TUF guys is something spectacular? Meanwhile, leaving world class MMArtists out of UFC but hey atleast we have Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell?? Right? Riiight? Ok so Dana says Boxing gives us crapty match ups we'll i'm gonna try to list the big matches yet to come in 2007: Manny Pacquaio vs Barrera 2 Jermain Taylor vs kelly Pavlik for the Undisputed Middleweight Championship Sugar Shane Mosley vs Miquel Cotto a superfight in Welterweight Fernando Vargas vs Ricardo Mayorga, two past champions slugging it out Ricky Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather, arguably the P4P Number 1 against the best Light Welter out there Joe Calzaghe vs Mikkel Kessler, the Super Middleweight unification bout both men undefeated, Number 1 and 2 in the rankings and those are just the top off my head. So while Dana keeps on chewing his bullcrap and offering Kool-Aid for the UFC loyals, boxing actually delivers us these world class match ups. Dana: "Nobody gives a crap about Josh Barnett, especially me". Oh ye keep protecting your paper champ there Dana dude man, TUF guys and lesser known guys are some of the best guys on the roster. That ROger Heurta fight on saturday was one of the best on the card, probably better than GSP/Koscheck. and calling randy a paper champion? gamefaqs called and there missing a troll He's not a troll just because he has an opinion. In my opinion Randy Couture has not beaten anybody at the Heavyweight weight class and doesn't deserve to be champion. Am I a troll because I disagree with you?

Should i take that seriously coming from a Couture fanboy? People keep telling me there is some kind of a new Couture coming out but i just don't see it, what i see is clinchfighting, strecthing the rules and using his reputation as a lever with the judges and the refs(Herb Dean deducting a point from Gonz without a warning and Big John saying Randy's headbutt was legal) Anyway, Roger Huerta was impressive no doubt i would agree with you that he was the highlight of the night. But for Dana to say he is bringing us what all the fans want to see unlike boxing is attrocious. Let's look at the facts, MMA is more of a monopoly these days than Boxing, Dana White is a businessman he is not a fight fan. To say that "Nobody gives a crap about Josh Barnett" and blowing off other elite fighters for whatever reasons is not brigning us the best fights there is to see. UFC 76 is obviously highlighted by Chuck Liddell vs Keith Jardine, is this what Dana calls "the best fights there are to see"? A glorified CAN that got into a main event fooor......getting knocked out by Houston Alexander? vs Chuck Liddell, who is obviously there as an attraction for people to buy it. Boxing on the other hand has tons of REAL world class meetings as i posted in my previous reply, the only division that doesn't get the job done right now is Heavyweights and one could argue it's the most uncompetivie division in Boxing right now.

Rampage KO'ing chuck was great and shitty at the same time. Cause now they gotta find a way to make him look like a killer again. and to have his first fight back be against someone like Wandy is a fan boys dream, but to the average doesn't mean shit. So thats why were getting that. Plus you can't burn out main events so quickly. I mean basically UFC is booked till the end of january. why not but the "biggest star" in UFC history against a guy who basically will get killed. Simple. Cause People will buy a PPV for chuck. not caring who he is. UFC is hardly a monopoly. theres plenty of fighting if you look for it to watch. i find it hard to believe that in a day in age of iphones and youtube the onyl fighting you can find is UFC. you could easily turn on IFL on mondays or WEC on vs. or the ungodly amounts of MMA on freakin youtube. as for randy and barnett. Yeah i'm a couture fan boy, but you know what, he's a good fighter. and as a fan i would like to see barnett fight him, cause believe it or not, when i first started to get into fighting, the first guy I ever heard of was Josh Barnett. he screwed himself, much like sean sherk did(well the jurys still out on sherk) . and failed for steroids. thats the bottom line. when UFC in the states was starting to become legit, this monster of a guy failed. josh barnett calling out randy and all that is fine, and is just gonna raise the stakes. you said yourself that dana is a buisness man. you honestly think that dana is not gonna pick up Josh barnett sooner or later. of course he is. Put Dana as bigger fish to fry when it comes to Brock and Fedor right now. so big josh will have to wait his turn

Good post, agree on the hole Chuck Liddell thing. It's just Dana trying to sell that "Boxing sucks" for his fans, that's so annoying.
Yeah there is plenty of MMA available but it's a monopoly in a way that alot of fighters(good fighters) tend to get lost in the shuffle because there is just one big dog in town much like the WWE nowadays. Of course we're not in such a bad state with MMA but take Matt Lindland for example, the man was dominant in the UFC MW division then got fired for wearing clothes from a wrong sponsor(propably just an excuse reason much like with babalu) and now has to collect tiny paychecks from LITTLE organizations while people are gonna start asking "Who is Matt Lindland". UFC wants to be a monopoly you cant deny that, the only fighters they promote are the ones who work for them and their policy is pretty much "Our way or the highway" because its better for their business.

Fedor will be at UFC 75...only because of his connection to the AFFLICTION clothing line. He hasn't signed with anyone yet. Mark Cuban is still pushing to sign him although UFC is still UFC.

Sweet bit in today's Daily Star in the UK, which is usually a trash tabloid, but it's the first one I've seen that's actually reporting the UFC as a sport. They interviewed Hendo, who said that he doesn't see himself as the underdog, and will surprise a lot of people tomorrow. They also compared both men against Wanderlei Silva.

You know what I'm getting tired of?
The fact that this is supposedly "UFC VS PRIDE" when Jackson has had a total of two fights in the UFC.

Both guys have had two UFC fights in their careers.
It's UFC vs. PRIDE in the belt sense.

Right, my plan for this thread is that I will put a spoiler notice up from 8pm UK time, when the show starts, and then someone can work something else out for the SPIKE broadcast.
