Yeah, so much for bad mic skills. Er, 'cept you could find a 100 more cases of bad/unintentionally hilarious Sid promos to counter. This one works because he's playing it understated, collected and 'dangerous'. GET OUT OF HERE YOU FAT, BALD-HEADED LITTLE OAF!

I've been a fan of Sid's ever since he told me he'd go back and finish a match just for me and my friends.

The thing is, I never saw him as a monster, just a huge guy. To me he never had that monster aura, that someone like Vader had.
Sid's problem and source of his popularity is that he pretty much is a lovable goof. He could easily switch from heel to face, but that never made him seem as dangerous as a Vader, Mike Awesome or Brock Lesnar.
He did have an amazing chokeslam and powerbomb. But the rest of his moveset was average. He wasn't bad, but wasn't overly good either. He was an average mid-carder who became a star because of his unique look and charisma.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGOr41HolwU&mode=related&search=Here's his WM8 promo. Also, I never quite understood the name changes. Was he not able to be Sid "Justice" or Sid "Vicious" in WWE & WCW? Wasn't he Sid Justice in his late 80s-early 90s WCW run & then Sid Vicious in 99-01 WCW?

He was Sid Vicious in late 80s/early 90s WCW. I don't know if WCW owned the rights to the name, or if WWF just didn't think it would be a great idea to have a wrestler named after a heroin addict that murdered his girlfriend on their family friendly show.

So why wasn't he Sid Justice upon his return to the WWF as HBK's bodyguard? Why was he then Psycho/Sycho Sid? Or even Sid Vicious then, since they were getting closer and closer to "pushing the envelope" at that point in time?
Anyone know? Or is it just one of those things that Vince & Co. thought of that nobody will ever understand?

I don't know the origin of "Sycho Sid." Rumor has it that it is a reference to the scissors incident. Although, I recall Gorilla Monsoon using it during Sid's time with Harvey Whippleman.

WWE didn't own the rights to the name 'Sid Vicious'. When he entered WWE in 1991, they changed his name to Sid Justice and made him a face. He left WWE in 1992, and when he returned in 1995 he was known only as "Sid" (originally). Eventually he was referred to as Sycho Sid.

Sid was awesome for the most part. I loved his paring with Vader.
Honestly I wouldn't mind a return by him to one of the televised promotions.
