But he did win the ROH Title...and destroyed everyone for 21 months... He also made it a World title, correct? Anywho, on the subject of 'Shima, I really like the guy's work, and think his stint as ROH champion is pretty brilliant. Here comes some huge Japanese guy that a lot of us has never heard of, takes the belt in one of his first matches, and pisses everyone off. Then, to back it up, he just keeps beating people. While I love the concept, I only wish he'd act a little more brutal or "in your face." He could really use some "scariness" to make him look even more unstoppable. He's been consistently improving on that. He's gone from "intimidating" to "monster" during his reign, and I'm enjoying the transition.

It's not that he acts like a women at all, it's that to some people he reminds them of a fat asian women a little too much...appereance wise... Then they're idiots, I'm sorry. Why are some smarks not happy unless DAnielson has the strap until he dies? I've had this opinion of Morishima since his Wild II days. I also think it's why Misawa doesn't want to put the title on him. I think he's good in the ring, I just don't think he's got an intimidating look.

I always thought if Morishima started making dramatic declarations of destruction in Japanese when he has the upper hand during some of his matches would be cool.

See, I take the "he looks like a fat asian woman" as more funny than anything because it's damn true, he looks like a fat asian woman...that can kick the living crap out of you.
I personally find that makes him a little more intimidating because by looks alone this guy does not look dangerous (!!!) at all.

I saw Danielson vs. Morishima at the Manhattan Center last time they were there.
It was one of the greatest live matches I've ever seen, at least in recent memory.
He's currently one of my favorite in ROH. I was in the minority of people chanting for him over Danielson.

I've seen his match with Misawa and Joe and he just didn't strike as anything great. Maybe I'm not seeing the right matches, but I've been pretty meh on him. His match with Joe wasn't that good, despite what Dave Meltzer says.

The Joe match was alright, but it wasn't anything special. It's nothing compared to some of Shima's defenses. It certainly didn't deserve the 4 1/2 stars that Meltzer gave it.

The first time I watched it I thought it was ***3/4 or in that range. However, in comparison to the Aries or Strong or Nigel or SHINGO matches? Don't think it holds up. Not to say it's BAD, not at all. But not on the same level IMO.

But seeing those two Bo-hemoths socking into each other so brutal time and time again is something real special.
