I'm pretty sure this game is random. Sometimes I just do horrible from the beginning and others times it feels like I can do no wrong, I'm playing one of those do no wrong files right now. I'm in the 'wrong from the beginning' category. Bleeding money on the talent, strugglnig immensely with advertising and merchandising costs, tried to make some moey back by changing a ton of guys to Open contracts- hasn't worked. Tried to get some more money in by raising ticket prices by $2. That cut my attendance in half. Plus, all my open contract workers keep demanding a bigger pay-per-appearance fee. Yago, Sweenery and Yoshisune had upped their demands each month. The wrtten cotnract guys would only sign the written contracts for more money than they were on before, and I had to give Quack creative control. I'm having to pay Gran Akuma $15000 a month. I lost 700 000 first month, 500 000 last month and I need to take out a loan, cause Im gonna lose about 600 000 this month. My shows have gone 49%, 51%, 52% despite several matches getting in the high 70's or 80's. I'm royally screwed money-wise. Plus Paramount, a network whose risk level and production level matched mine exactly (at primetime, too), said they aren't look for programming at the moment and turned me down. EDIT: I don't f**king believe this. I'd just landed a TV deal with Emprie Sports (graveyard amittedly, but still), all set for my big end of year show, and Jigsaw, set to feature in a big Falls Count Anywhere bout with El Generico, has just sent himself to rehab for a cocaine addiction. I'm royally screwed now. His match was one of the most built up ones on the show. f*** it.

This thing is frighteningly accurate sometimes: Actually, would New Jack put himself into rehab?

Oh yeah, and not only has Jisaw now been lost to rehab, but it's dropped us back down to Small level and my big event looks like it'll be a flop and I'l have to reduce it to medium. I'll need to cut production levels too, and I can't change talent contracts cause it'd make so many other guys upset. I think CHIKARA's about to go under. EDIT: It gets worse- Wrestling-Heat.com is reporting that I've fired Jigsaw when I haven't yet, and that Maxime Boyer, Darin Corbin and Player Uno are all about to quit. that's great for morale.

I'm hitting a low point in my Fusient buys WCW game... I have 2 primetime shows but TNA made me lower my risk level so low that not a lot of options are available for matches, angles, etc. and it's really making things seem repetitive for me. How many times can you run a midget impression angle before it gets stale? I'm also suffering from having too many workers on the roster. I have 58-ish workers signed with 15 in development but I'm focusing on younger guys and it's causing fans to turn to WWF since my workers aren't as well known. Also, the older guys I don't use, like Stevie Ray and Konnan, are just collecting paychecks. They aren't complaining about their lack of use, but I'm wasting money on them. I can't release them either because according to Sophie my roster would look unprofessional for a global company. I should note that despite this, business is booming and my shows are always rated between 75 and 85. Anyone have any ideas to get me out of my creative rut? Use those old guys to build up the new guys. Have one-sided feuds that the new guys win, thereby getting them big boosts. Then, ditch the old farts and hire some more young, talented workers to fill in the holes in the bottom (since you've just made new higher level stars). Jed Shaffer ~And don't raise your risk level on PPV/big events. It'll cost you huge.

In the middle of screwing with the WWE and making them pay even more for their guys, I accidentally signed Kane to a 300,000 contract. Oops.

Well, this is what my tentative plans are for my World Title now that Hero is gone for 9 months, tell me what you think.
Firstly, Bischoff (My Authority Figure) vacates the belt.
Bischoff sets a matchup for the October PPV Unforgettable. ROH Television Champion Joey Ryan will take on Colt Cabana to crown a new ROH World Champion. Joey Ryan is currently in the middle of a long feud with Claudio Castagnoli. Joey Ryan defeats Colt Cabana at Unforgettable to become the new ROH World Champion.
Now, Chris Hero formed a stable after winning the ROH World Title, with him gone, Joey Ryan talks them into letting him take Hero's place as leader, leaving behind Arrogance. Arrogance turns face and feuds with Whitmer/Pearce (Part of Hero's old stable).
The long Castagnoli/Ryan feud Culminates at the November PPV Vendetta where Claudio defeats Joey Ryan to win the Television Title.
Now, Ryan and his stable will feud with the likes of Aries, Claudio, Cabana, Steen and Generico, and so on until Hero comes back from his long layoff. He will come back as a babyface wanting his belt back, and pissed that Ryan stole his spot in the stable he created. They will have a long feud ending with Hero winning the belt back.
This is a years worth of storyline. Of course, this is planning way ahead, and a lot of things could happen between now and then, but thats what I have planned atm.
I mentioned a few posts back that I just signed Daniels from TNA. I had planned on brining him in as a babyface, because my heels were strong with Hero and his stable, and Ryan and The Dynasty dominating the scene, but I think with Hero gone, and him probably returning as a babyface (at least for a little while), Im going to being in Daniels as a heel.

Jed Shaffer ~And don't raise your risk level on PPV/big events. It'll cost you huge. Yeah. I've been building up the younger guys and I've found a way to get use out of everybody. The older vets rotate shows. Smiley works as a JTTS for one show, and the next show he's replaced with Konnan, etc. Seems to be working out for the time being. My current problem is that when I finally get up to 60 PI it puts me into competition with WWF. Since my guys aren't as popular I always drop back down to about 55 PI. In the middle of screwing with the WWE and making them pay even more for their guys, I accidentally signed Kane to a 300,000 contract. Oops. I tried to steal Raven and Eddie Guererro from WWF but they wouldn't leave and got $200,000 contracts from WWF. I tried to f*** with them by offering Billy Gunn to see if they would overpay for him but they just let me have him.

In my '92 scenario, I'm trying to lure Ric Flair away from WWF, but he's not having it. I'm already the number 1 promotion, have his friends (Arn and Tully) under contract, offered him $300,000 plus creative control for every possible length. He just keeps saying he doesn't think it's a good career move.

I'm running WCW. I'm global at 100% PI, WWF is global at 57%.

As others have mentioned once you get in a war with WWE it can be difficult when they start saying that the WWE has more stars so fans are turning to them. Two methods to fight this... Option 1 Build up your stars as you go. How many guys does WWE have in main event status at any one time? You could be a global promotion with a bunch of guys no one knows. You have to get more then two or three guys over. Whatever promotion you start with you should be looking at long term main eventers. It is easy if you do old school time lines cause guys like Eddie, Benoit, and Mysterio are rookies. In the current time lines you need to hit up guys on the current indy scene and build them up! Once you get global and begin warring with the WWE you should have 10 people who are legit main eventers...the more the better and of course the harder to keep happy. Option 2 Selectively pick off the WWE guys coming off contracts. Similar to real life TNA. Obviously be choosey and only take the guys you will enjoy and who will fit in with your booking style. Just recently I was able to land Brian Kendrick, Chris Benoit, and Rob Van Dam. They will be joining me in a months time I will of course have my scouts watch London for when his contract expires. My tag team division is ridiculously packed with a nice mix of old school, current stars and up and comers. There is a third option which takes oh so very much longer. Once in a war with WWE you will lose some PI every week. If you put on good enough shows and PPV events it is possible to continue to gain ground. However, you can literally be taking five or six steps up and 4 to five steps back. It can be very trying. In all the amount we play and analyse this game I am sometimes blown away at a lot of the realism. Many Crappers bitch about TNA signing WWE guys but in fact if you can't build your own stars which are recognizable by the mainstream fans your popularity is worth crap. The problem TNA has is not that they sign WWE guys. The problem is that they are not being selective in who they sign and then when they do sign them they are misusing the talent just as badly as WWE screws up with the indy guys they sign half the time. Some of my top guys are Samoa Joe Christain Alex Shelly Chris Sabin Brock Lesnar Managed by Dawn Marie Christopher Daniels Team 3d Raven The Briscoes The Naturals Abyss Roderick Strong Homicide Lance Storm Kurt Angle Colt Cabana Low Ki and soon to be joining those top guys are Rob Van Dam Chris Benoit Brian Kendrick I obviously have a glut of talent. All the guys above other then the newly signed WWE guys are above 90 in overness. I have 63 people on the roster and two shows. I opened a developmental territorry to sign the Dibiase boys as well as Harry smith and a few other interesting guys. I then filled out the ranks with guys I had no room for on the main shows. 13 guys in total.
