From the latest Observer, a few rough estimates on TNA buy rates this year. The reason they're estimates is that the numbers are so small that they're not tracked closely:
36,000 for Destination X (Joe vs. Sting) and Bound For Glory (Sting vs. Angle) 35,000 for Turning Point (Joe vs. Angle) and Lockdown (Team Angle vs. Team Cage) 34,000 for Final Resolution (Joe vs. Angle) 27,000 for Genesis (Sting and Booker T vs. Angle and Nash) 26,000 for Hard Justice (Joe vs. Angle) 23,000 for Against All Odds (Angle vs. Cage) 22,000 for Slammiversary (King of the Mountain) 21,000 for Sacrifice (Angle vs. Sting vs. Cage) 17,000 for No Surrender (Angle vs. Abyss) 15,000 for Victory Road (Joe and Angle vs. Team 3D)

Wrestling math fact #843
The number of people who ordered Destination X and Bound For Glory combined, equal the number of people at Ford Field for Wrestlemania 23.

For multiplication's sake...At $30 a buy, the estimated gross is $9,810,000.
EDIT: Also, I'm not surprised to see that the worst PPV was the Joe/Angle v. Team 3D one. Horrible concept that led to a bad angle (in my opinion).

No Bound For Glory? I was curious on what that one got. Estimated 36,000. It's the second one listed with that number. No worries,I had to read it twice to catch it.

Can someone order these chronologically? I can't remember what months go to which PPV name, and I'd rather see the up/down trends than what one is highest/lowest.

OK, with a 1.0 buyrate equalling out to 400,000 paying viewers, that means that each time you buy a PPV, be it TNA, WWE, ROH, or Topless Chearleader A-Go-Go, you account for a buyrate of 0.0000025.
So, TNA's highest selling PPV this year, Destination X, scored a buyrate of 0.09. To put that in perspective, WCW's worst selling PPV's of all time were Greed 2001 (0.10) and Superbrawl 2000 (0.10). TNA's highest number of buys ever was 60,000 buys for the first Joe/Angle showdown, which corolates to a buyrate of 0.15.
To further that, ECW's buyrates, at their absolute lowest, were a 0.20 for November to Remember '97 and '99. That's 1 and half times the buyrate for TNA's most watched program. December to Dismember 06, a raging suckfest by all accounts, pulled off at 0.22 for God's sake.
EDIT: Sweet Jesus, even the wonder that was Halloween Havoc '91 pulled a 0.80!

Nothing to add, but that was the funniest post I've read in a while. Kind of sad to when you think about it. I once again go by my though that TNA should just to a full two hours of pyro-necro-beastiality and see if that ups their buy rates and ratings.

And Destination X was NOT headlined by Sting and Joe, no idea where they got that from. DX was Joe/Cage for the belt, and Sting wrestled Abyss.

I'm shocked Victory Road with a main event of Angle V. Sting had the least amount of buys. That makes no sense.

In fairness to TNA, they are suffering from an over saturated marketplace. Not only do they have WWE to comtpete with, they have UFC as well. And since it's been proven a lot of tna's audience watch UFC it's obvious, with UFC on fire right now, who's going to come out on the losing side.

I think it's official. Abyss sucks. That was the "ANGLE DEFENDS ALL TITLES!" PPV, I think that may have had something to do with it too. But yeah I don't think Abyss would be much of a PPV draw these days though.

Also, interesting enough:
Joe v. Angle (Wrestling rivalry to determine who is the better man) gets 35,000 & 34,000 buys.
Joe v. Angle (Storyline focusing on Kurt's wife "divorcing" him and wanting to help Joe win EVERY SINGLE TITLE in one match) 26,000 buys.

Nah. While the numbers are estimated, I doubt they could be off more than a few thousand either way. They could debate my point about the Joe/Angle feud, though. I'm sure that is possible. I'm sure other factors could be involved. However, I just wanted to make that point since I hated the whole "Karen Angle cheats Joe" angle that EVERYONE saw coming.
