Good night all. I think just talking helps us all a little bit in this tough time. No matter what happened, let's remember that three very REAL lives are forever gone. Let's respect that for now and judge later.
Oh, and Love the one's you are with......

I simply cannot parse this information anymore. It's conjecture overload. I'm going to try and work my way through the tribute program, I freely admit I shut it off in disgust from my recorder when I heard the latest rumors.. right now we can and should weep for the loss of three lives, and we are promised to get the facts soon enough, and we'll save the judgment for that time.
May God have mercy on the souls that deserve it.

f***ing hell. This is absolutely shocking and terrible news.
Benoit was easily one of the all time greats, and I'm glad I watched most of his televised career.
If it transpires that he has killed his family and himself, then I don't know what to think. Maybe he cracked up after Eddie died? Those two were practically brothers.

To the poster with the murderer avatar, this happened in america where one is innocent until proven guilty. What a night, at 11 when my raw tape finished recording I thought I was gonna get Vince funeral wackiness, then I saw the memorial and dared to hope it was part of Vince's storyline, until a second later when I saw Vince and the empty arena. I stoped the tape and hit the net to try to find some info and I've read through this whole thread. Compared to that emotional rollercoaster, watching the show will be easy. I just want to say that Chris Benoit was a victim of this tragegy. No matter what facts come to light both himself and his family are gone forever. If this tragegy happened because of some unfathomable darkness within himself, it does not diminish the fact that he was a victim. NOTHING can diminish what he did professionaly to me. I will proudly wear a tribute shirt of this great wrestler in public and I will not waste my time defending my choice to pay tribute to him to anyone that does not understand. Typing this has almost made me cry again. I'm going to watch the tribute raw now, thanks to all the posters that are helping each other through this.

It has been said better by others, but I'll summarize it here. As wrestling fans, we are used to separating our disgust for Person X the wrestler while appreciating Real Person X, the athlete/actor/stuntman/human being. Likewise, irrespective of Chris Benoit the real human being, the fact will always remain that Chris Benoit the wrestler has given me 20+ years of entertainment - that's what is making this so hard for me to deal with - and NOTHING will take that away.

I've been a long time lurker here, and it just really sucks that this is what finally got me to sign up and post something.
To be honest, this all seems so surreal. Like it's some strange nightmare happening, but it's not a nightmare, it's real life. I was stunned earlier this evening when I heard of the tragic news, and I couldn't believe that Benoit was gone. It was just so random, so out of the blue, that it never really hit me until watching the RAW tribute show.
Then all of the horrible facts concerning the circumstances of what happened came out. The feeling of surreality came back, and I just can't wrap it around my mind that Chris Benoit could take the life of his wife and seven year old child. I don't know. I guess Edge said it best in his tribute video when he said that its confusing and that he doesn't understand things like this. I don't understand it either, and I don't know if I can. It's just really insane.

If that was the case, why would Benoit take the death of his friend on his own family? This is a stupid f***ing assumption.

If that was the case, why would Benoit take the death of his friend on his own family? I didn't say that was direct, but it could be part of the reason his psyche was weak. Maybe Nancy was cheating on him, who knows, several things could happen.

I can't believe some of the things I'm reading here. Noone is suggesting workrate overrules murder. The man lost his life, that is the most severe punishment the state will hand down, and some will not go that far. OJ comparisons? That really takes the cake whatever happened this weekend caused Benoit to end his life. OJ laughed his wifes murder off and tried to make money with that sick book, really don't see the comparison here. OK I'm really gonna go watch the tribute now.

That actually makes some sesne: Woman kills son: murder #1 Benoit kills Woman: murder #2 Benoit kills himself: suicide It doesn't make sense because it wasn't reported as a hanging, if someone hangs themselves, it's always immediately listed as that, plus they said he was in the weight room. It makes more sense to me than Benoit killing his family for no reason. After all, the District Attorney said "The details, when they come out are going to prove a little bizarre."
