And I loved it.
I heard people saying it's only downfall was it was getting 'Superhero-y' toward the end.
I assume, they meant Will Smith sacrificing himself to save Anna and Ethan and to get the cure out. It was something that had to be done, otherwise the creatures would have gotten into the shaft and killed them all.
Smith was awesome in the movie.
I felt like I was there alone with him, I felt myself going a bit crazy like he was. I wanted to help, but I knew it was just a movie.
I hated the fact that Sam (the dog) had to die. She had escaped being killed along with his wife and daughter, only to die a few years later.
As soon as he killed her, I instantly felt complete loneliness. And when he was talking to the mannequin, trying to get it to say hello. I was on the edge of tears.
Only thing, I wish it had a bit more back story on his life and family before the breakout. And I was it was a tad longer, as it seemed a bit rushed at the end.
On a scale of * to *****, I give I Am Legend. *** 1/2 stars.

The UK newspaper the News Of The World gave me mega lols in their movie section. On the first page they say the film is awesome and that Will Smith lives up to the name of the film. Then the next page they have a review saying it's one of the crappest zombie flicks ever

I liked how they played up that yeah he would be a bit..unhinged after everything that happened. my big beef was the end one of the better reviews I'd heard was 3/4's really good movie and 1/4 of the biggest deus ex machina in years.

my friend brought up 2 questions after the movie, that i would hope someone could answer...
1. Why did Smith have to kill himself? Couldnt he have just let the grenade explode and went into the shaft with the other 2?
2. How did Anna and the kid get to NY? They showed the bridges being blown up throughout the movie, so one would assume they were trying to stop anyone from leaving the city (tunnels and all that junk). Unless she took a boat (no, since she drove in), there should be no way she could have gotten there.

I think the creatures only wanted him for the time being, the head one did at least. So maybe it was enough of a distraction for him to run head on into them. And I was thinking maybe Queens Boro? Was that bridge blown up too?

I think it was more of Smith's character having nothing to live for. He saw his wife and child die. He had to kill the only companion he had. The only thing keeping him going was to find the cure, which he did. I don't think he wanted to go on.

I read the novel again before I saw it in imax yesterday (how odd we both saw it on the same night).
I will say that I liked the book more then the movie. I think the book brought up ideas that were more important then the movie did and the ending in the movie seemed WAAAAAY too happy of an ending that seemed like something hollywood would do.
BTW I'm sorry for that long run on sentence. I hope you can comprehend what I was trying to say.

That's why im so mad, along with Smith dying. Is there gonna even be a sequel? It just can't end like that.

I guess maybe it's easier to get lost in a book, to imagine all these insane scenarios. As opposed to the movie, where everything is already picked out and you have to go along with it. I haven't read the novel, but I bet I would enjoy it more. I love books.

And I was thinking maybe Queens Boro? Was that bridge blown up too? My eyes are getting weary. My back is getting tight. I'm sitting here in traffic on the Queensborough Bridge tonight. But I don't care cause all I want to do Is cash my check and drive right home to you. Cause Baby, all my life, I will be driving home to you.

I quite enjoyed the film, flaws and all. The fact that Smith did so well by himself throughout most of the film and that they had the balls to actually kill off the character were highlights.

I'd agree with this statement. The whole movie, up until Anna and Ethan get introduced was pretty awesome... The scope and the size of the whole movie just made it feel a lot more desolate, a lot more alone... Will Smith definitely did a good job carrying the movie and his dog in the movie deserves some sort of award as I actually felt their connection during the early scene of him giving the dog a bath. The scene later where the dog dies was one of the saddest scenes in cinema that I've seen in a long time. The lead-up to it really made it all the more depressing. My big gripes are, again, the last 1/4th of the movie, which was a bit lackluster and rushed. I also didn't like the "zombies" and wished they used actual people in makeup instead of CGI, as all the zombies looked exactly alike.

It was ok but nothing great. And yeah i nearly cried too. My friends didn't seem to understand why Smith's character was acting weird, idiots.

I saw this movie a few nights ago and while I questioned why he killed himself I understand now relizing he had nothing to live for and had accomplished everything he needed to accomplsih. I really enjoyed this movie I'd give it **** out of *****.

Sorry to bump, but I just saw this last night. I don't wanna say i disliked the movie, because, well, when I see a movie that I don't like, it's because it's a piece of shit in my eyes and I'm angered it was ever made and I hadda sit though it(like Hot Rod) Let's just say it wasn't the feel good film of the year for me, in fact, I felt bad about being alive after this flick, I think- I don't ever wanna see it again either.
