For Your Consideration's? For Your Consideration. EW does that yearly, to pimp an under-pimped campaign....like Bale's great turn in RESCUE DAWN.

Come on Atonement! Although, I think this is the Coens year even though I haven't seen No Country yet (not out here until next week).
Shame that James McAvoy isn't on that list for Best Actor. But a Best Picture nomination will only raise the profile of a great actor and a great film.

C'mon people, Delta Farce is gonna OWN the Razzies this time!
As for best GOOD movie...I suspect it will be a three-way race between Blood, American Gangster, and No Country. Zodiac and Sweeney Todd will get neglected because the Academy hates "genre" horror.

American Gangster won't get nominated. Into the Wild and Eastern Promises have more chance of getting nominated IMO.

Not total. Whats the last truely faithful "Based on a True Story" movie anyway? um, Zodiac and American Gangster True on ZODIAC, but AG? Then again, RESCUE DAWN is a screwy situation where the original documentary was (probably) more fictional than the movie itself. That Herzog fellow is a crazy mother f***er.....and a master.

Yes on INTO THE WILD, but PROMISES.....Viggo's campaign is the only one that hasn't stalled in recent weeks. Sad but Oscars don't reward for quality, but the best-run Oscar campaigns. As for GANGSTER, it has a shot but only as the box-office "people's champion," but zero chance of winning. At this rate, if JUNO continues its box-office ways, it could get that slot instead.

Werner Herzog is one of those delightfully insane people. Ever seen when Mark Kermode is interviewing him and someone shoots him with an air rifle?
