Wow, and Falco is out of this tournament! I got to say, a lot of choices surprise me. That's what I like to see though. -------------------------------------------------------- You know. I wonder what Fred Astaire would vote here? And yes I know Fred didn't originate the song. Mr. Mister - Broken WingsThe song was co-written with lyricist John Lang, who was inspired by a book called "Broken Wings" written by Khalil Gibran [1]. The line "Take these broken wings and learn to fly" previously appeared in the Beatles' song "Blackbird". The song is a mix of synth, digitally delayed guitar, bass and drums. The song's hissing intro was an effect created by the sound of crash cymbal played in reverse [1]. There is a distinct guitar sound in this track thanks to Steve Farris' innovation of the electric guitar, managing to extract a delay effect at an odd timing to create a contrast to the steadyness of the bass and beat. The outro to the song features Page singing a very high and lengthy falsetto note. Vs. Taco - Puttin' on the RitzA return to the hit parade with a Synthpop version by Taco Ockerse recorded in 1982, reaching #4 on the American Billboard's Pop Chart. This version was ranked #79 in VH1's 100 Greatest One-hit Wonders.

Mr. Mister breaks Taco in half... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- One of my favorites here, by the Police. George Michael - I Want Your Sex"I Want Your Sex" was a single released from both the soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop II and George Michael's Faith album, and first charted in July 1987. Vs. The Police - Every Breathe You TakeOriginally thought to be about either angels, the government, or parents, the track was in fact written during the collapse of Sting's marriage to Frances Tomelty; the lyrics are the words of a sinister, controlling character, who is watching "every breath you take / every move you make". “ I woke up in the middle of the night with that line in my head, sat down at the piano and had written it in half an hour. The tune itself is generic, an aggregate of hundreds of others, but the words are interesting. It sounds like a comforting love song. I didn't realise at the time how sinister it is. I think I was thinking of Big Brother, surveillance and control. ” —Sting[1] However, this fact has often gone unnoticed, or is ignored, and hence the song is often taken to be a love song.[2] Some even conjecture that the song is themed after jealousy. The lyrics are also very similar to the opening lines of a short story by science fiction author Judith Merrill titled "Whoever You Are". The song is played by Sting's double bass, Andy's electric guitar, Stewart's drums, a group of four violinists, and a piano player.
