I've wined and dined with kings and queens, and I now have the next round ready. ROUND 5! This will be the last round at 4 votes. Starting next round we'll have the big 8 and it will take 5 votes to win! Huey Lewis & The News - Back In TimeVs. Michael Jackson - ThrillerWritten by Rod Temperton, produced by Quincy Jones, and featuring a guest soliloquy from Vincent Price, "Thriller" is one of Jackson's signature songs, in no small part because of its music video. The single was included on Jackson's Thriller album, which was released on December 1, 1982 and was the final single pulled from it. A voice-over recording session of "Thriller" appears on the special edition version of the album, released in 2001. This session features additional verses of the rap performed by Vincent Price, which were removed from the final version of the song. This is a match worthy of the finals. I just cannot vote yet. .sigh.

Shout wins another tightly contested match up! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Billie Jean... is a bad ass song, but it's going against a pretty fun song in it's own rights. Michael Jackson - Billie JeanCritical reaction to the song was overwhelmingly positive. With the passage of time, the song has gained legendary status and is often featured on "best of" lists. "Billie Jean" was ranked #58 in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time (making it number four among songs of the 1980s). In 2005, Blender magazine declared that "Billie Jean" was the greatest song released after 1980. Vs. Dexys Midnight Runners - Come On EileenThe music video to accompany the single was directed by Julien Temple. It features members of the band wearing sleeveless shirts and overalls. Drummer Seb Shelton was reputedly fired from the band during the filming of the music video. Rowland had ordered his bandmates not to do any bathing or shaving of any kind, in order to achieve a more gruff appearance. Shelton did not follow the orders, and was subsequently kicked out of the band. This is also the reason of Shelton's absence near the end of the video. The "Eileen" as featured in the video (and on the record sleeve) is Maire Fahey, sister of Siobhan Fahey, former singer with Bananarama and Shakespear's Sister. The American singer Johnnie Ray, an early rock-and-roll crooner, is also featured in the video using old film footage, and mentioned in the opening lyrics.
