I don't like country music, but I have a daughter so this song hit me hard.
It's by John Micheal Montgomery, and I don't even know the name of it.
Tells the story of a little girl who grew up with parents that fought and did drugs until dad one night shot mom. The little girl was hiding behind the couch.
At the end of the song she sees the cross of jesus for the first time, and tells he bible school teacher. She does not know that man, but she knows he came off, because he was holding me when my parents died.
Now he words it much better then me, I just remember driving to work on a stressfull day; I heard that and had some tears coming down.
No other song has done that.

Sia: "Breathe Me", but that's because of how it was used in the final episode of Six Feet Under. Also, the Chemical Brothers's "The Private Psychedelic Reel", because of how beautiful it was. Yes, really.

This seems to be my answer to many song threads, but it's no less true in this case...
"Hurt" (both the NIN and Johnny Cash versions).
Moreso the Cash version because it reminds me of the late, great Eddie Guerrero.
