Can someone stickie my Top Forum Fad/ Legend Countdown thread please? We don't sticky things like that, you'll just have to bump it occasionally. Why did my Red Stripe thread get locked? How in the world did that break any rules?! That is really ridiculous. At what point during the thread did anyone instruct anyone else to drink the beer? None.If I want a thread to celebrate a beer I like, what's the issue? Someone explain this me, and do a good job. It's a proboards rule which Sudden Rush mentioned earlier ... 3. CONTENT RESTRICTIONS Your web site must conform to the following standards to be eligible to utilize this service: User's content must comply in a manner consistent with any and all applicable laws of the State of California and the US Federal Government. User's web site may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity.User's message board and Web site must be in English. I will also quote the FAQ section ... Can you clarify the "no alcohol or illegal drug discussion" rule, please?
A : This link should be a good starting place. If that does not work for you, then here's this from that thread:
"Discussion of most of those things are fine, something like drugs would need to be closely moderated, just make sure no one says things like 'drugs are cool' etc Promotion of alcohol: again it's ok to mention that you might be going to the pub, or that you add sherry to the trifle, but not to tell others that they should drink it, and you can't advertise alcohol."
Further on the subject, from the same thread: "In regards to the drugs question. Its fine to discuss topics about drugs, but don't be making posts such as "pot is kool, give it a try". If you are encouraging other users to try it or are bragging about using it yourself, then because that violates USA law, it can get your board deleted"
So for instance I might say that I knocked a few back on my way home from work. I couldn't, however, make a thread on which beers go best with certain foods since that would be asking for advertisements on some beers.
Q: Okay, but I see other forums on the proboards system with all sorts of language, nudity and other things that you guys have censored, yet you say this is because of Proboards TOS. What's the deal?
A: Yes, there are hundreds, if not thousands of forums all over Proboards that don't follow the TOS and aren't shut down. We're very aware of that fact. For the most part, Proboards appears very relaxed in terms of most of these rules. However, they can and will take action if they receive complaints regarding a specific forum. Maybe some of those other forums will go on forever because no one cares, but we don't want to lose our entire board because some bitter ex-member went and cried to Proboards, bringing attention to us. Thus, we play it safe.

Proboards doesn't micromanage websites easily, but there is still a chance. Oh here's the rule I got from Probaords Terms of Service: We may seem strict, as I personally don't mind people talking about beers, or wines, or whatever, but that's the rule and I can't do much about it. Which is all well and good, but it doesn't explain how the thread about the girl in India born with 8 limbs gets to continue on. Surely it has violated the rules against wishing harm upon others, with comments like "burn it with fire". The randomness of locking threads greatly confuses me. It seems anything the mods don't personally object to gets to live on, while others can go fine but violate some tiny rule get locked.

Some threads not everyone sees, this includes mods. I didn't see it, but if it was bad I would have deleted the post or locked the thread.

KILL IT WITH FIRE is common internet hyperbole for when you see something strange or uncommon. It's just as topical as if someone quoted Homer's reaction to Bart's sad drawing ("Ah! Burn it! Send it to Hell!"), and in my estimation it would have been well received here. No rules were broken in that thread. If you're comparing a joke about a cartoon wanting to burn a cartoon drawing to making a joke about setting a real person on fire....

I know where it comes from and I'm not even complaining about it, as I have no problem with the persons' comment. My point is or was, that threads have been shut down for less and wondering why a threads which contain the words "Red Stripe" get an automatic, no questions asked, lock because they violate the rules, but a thread about that little girl flies by with several jokes about the child's condition. I hate to repeat myself so much, but I just want to be clear. I don't like the idea of any threads being locked besides duplicates or ones that reach 30 pages. It's not the "kill it with fire" comment I object to, but rather the seemingly aribtrairily administration of rules. The Red Stripe thread breaks the rules straight away, by mentioning and celebrating Red Stripe Beer. (It is not our rule it is a proboard rule.) Whilst the Indian Girl story didn't as it was a thread that was within the rules. It only caused problems because later some posters said something dergoatory or nasty. Much like any other thread in which someone flames, wishes death/harm on someone etc ... we only PM, warn or Ban (Depending on the cicumstances) the paticular poster and don't lock the thread out right as the majority are posting sensible comments.

Some ISP's use floating IP's (most notably AOL). When someone is banned and has their IP banned sometimes the number that was banned is recycled and used. AOL uses several different IP's and it's possible that the IP number the connection at your house uses is currently banned from this (or other) forum(s). It's unfortunately nothing that we can control. It's an AOL thing and has been for a long time.

My thread on the wrestlecrap board had its title amended. No problem with it, in fact the mod chosen title makes more sense, but was just wondering why the 'punch upside the head' title was changed? Was their a complaint or was it just deemed too close to the knuckle? Do I need to apologise to anyone? In all seriousness I'd rather every title I use was run through a Mod filter rather than cause offense to anyone. I wasn't the one who changed it but: 9.WRESTLER BASHING - Do not go too far in bashing wrestlers or wrestling personalties past or present. For example, wishing death or serious injury on a Wrestler (or any other person for that matter) will not stand. Do not go too far in mentioning a wrestlers "Personal Demons" or any rumors you may have heard about them.We do have wrestlers who post here. You don't have to kiss their ass, just be respectful. So, what wrestlers have actually posted here (other than John Tenta)? Or should I not ask just to keep their identities private and their names from (potentially) being dragged through the mud and whatnot?

You shouldn't type around the filters but they have stated you can use * instead of the letters.
For instance you can type S*** but you can't type S**t.

The threads from around that time were missing due to WWE Current having a brainfart a few weeks back. It's fixed now, so they're back.

Why was the thread about the woman who orgasms a lot deleted? I don't know how to answer this without sounding really snarky.
