Jesse L. Martin exiting 'Law & Order' 'K-Ville' star Anderson may join show By JOSEF ADALIAN After nine seasons, Jesse L. Martin is leaving “Law & Order” and is expected to be replaced by “K-Ville” star Anthony Anderson. Martin’s departure has been buzzed about for months. He’s expected to lens one more episode of Dick Wolf’s NBC drama, with Anderson joining later this season. For Anderson, the “L&O” role would rep his latest gig on a cop show. He played a New Orleans detective on Fox’s “K-Ville” and made the jump from comedy to serious drama on FX’s “The Shield.” Fox has never officially admitted that it and “K-Ville” are splitsville, but Anderson’s casting would seem to be the final nail in the coffin for the highly touted 2007 drama. On the feature side, Anderson’s credits include “Transformers,” “Hustle & Flow” and “Kangaroo Jack.” He toplined his own WB laffer, “All About the Andersons,” in 2003. As for Martin, thesp has played Det. Ed Green since 1999. He shot to fame in the original Broadway production of “Rent,” reprising his role for the movie version. www.variety.com/article/VR1117981206.html?categoryid=1236&cs=1&p=0

I just hope Anderson shows up for the final season of the Shield. He was so awesome on that show.

This really sucks. I've been watching a lot of L&O on TNT lately and he's easily become my favorite L&O cop.........2nd only to Lenny Brisco, of course.
That said, Anderson's done well in shedding the crazy comedic side when he has to. So I'm not disappointed with Martin's replacement.......just that Martin has to be replaced.
EDIT: I understand Anderson has a recurring role on SVU, so I'm guessing they'll be moving that character over to the main show...?

Aw, that's kinda sad. I don't watch L&O...but due to my love of RENT, I love Jesse Martin quite a bit. Hope he still keeps acting...I just love that man.

Wait, which Law and Order? Aren't there a baker's dozen? The original Law and Order. No subtitles. The one with Jack McCoy, the lawyer.

Speaking of L&O, SVU is my favorite.

It's amazing how Jack's office always seems to attract female DAs that look like ex-models.

It's amazing how Jack's office always seems to attract female DAs that look like ex-models. and sometimes even a legit Bond Girl. i love Jesse Martin. he is very sexy. he kicked major ass with Brisco. hate to see him go. but at least my other L&O man, Chris Noth is still around. and Stabler on SVU is awesome as well.

I thought that Jesse L Martin left a long time ago. SVU is the only Law and Order I watching somewhat regularly. Mostly to watch Munch and the won't let Munch be Munch

I've been hearing for a while now that he's supposed to play Marvin Gaye in a biopic. That should be an awesome movie.

In the criminal justice system, people get hungry and have sandwiches. These are their stories.

Second, apparently it will be called, "Sexual Healing." Personally I think, "How Sweet It Is", would be a better title, but hey...I am a huge Marvin fan, and this can be just as good if not better than Walk the Line and Ray. But I just saw that it's only going to focus on his last few years of his life. That kind of sucks though.

Mike Logan is fantabulous, isn't he? Always has been. And I don't mind Jesse Martin leaving. I haven't watched the original in a while, but after Jerry Orbach left (and then sadly passed on), my heart just isn't in it.

Whats amazing about Chris Noth is how through all those years on L&0, his incredible exit from the series, the L&O TV movie*, and now CI.............his Mike Logan has probably become the most fleshed-out and enduring character of that whole fictional universe....someone who's still trying to get to Manhuttan Homicide. *=Which I actually reviewed: officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=offtopic&action=display&thread=1194470129
