and like the Hulk, I always end up in some town/city, doing menial work.....but forced to "RRA Up" and and leave said area after kicking unholy amounts of ass. Is that before or after you will watch 'the astronaut farmer' for the 100th time? You better hope you don't get stuck in a town where the only popular movie they have at the cineplex is "Unaccompanied Minors". Then you would have to planet hulk on their ass...you better watch out toadsuck arkansas....! Notice how HULK in his DEFENDERS run used downers to try to suppress his rage. No, I'll be wreckless if a town only shows TRANSFORMERS 2.

I've always thought there should be some special award for Duncan Regehr's performance as Dracula. Wizard Magazine had a Top 100 Villains list, and singled him out as their Dracula choice. They put it really well, he wasn't a erotic/gothic vampire soul, he was just this engine of pure evil and destruction.
As a kid, I totally didn't get Scary German Guy's tattoo. I thought he was a vampire or something. When I did get it, I was struck by how deep and moving that small scene is.
Human Wolf Man thanking Rudy before he dies is pretty awesome too.
Just an all-around well-made, under-appreciated film.

Kinda sucks that the kid who played Horace died.
And it's really freaking cool that the actor who played Wolfman is Uncle Pedro in Napolean Dynomite.

In watching the DVD, director Fred Dekker explained that he casted Rehehr instead of Liam Neeson because Rehehr emulated the spirits of the Lugosi and Christopher Lee* Draculas while adding his own venom for such a kid's movie. And he's right. *=IMO the best cinema Dracula. That's why he is Christopher "f***ing" Lee.

Not the least of which being that his Drac wasn't the least bit seductive and still got all the movie-women swooning.

I think Oldman was the best Drac.. but then I'm more a fan of the book, so that explains why.

How come Frank Langella can't be considered the best Drac? You humans being wrong for this mistake.

M biggest problem with Langella's Dracula is that he was the vampire I dislike the most...the romantic vampire. Sexy and seductive...that crap turns my stomach, personally. Lee's performances made Dracula into an animal, sexual yet brutal. The way a vampire should be.

We never did find out how the dog got into the treehouse, much less Frankenstein.
And the sister grew up to be quite a hottie.
Also, I was watching the deleted scenes on the DVD recently. Going in, I was expecting a bunch of cool scenes involving the monsters. Instead, they were all scenes with the mom, which I suppose they should be. We really didn't need to see too much of her in the film.

I'm convinced Christopher Lee wasn't playing Dracula. I'm convinced he IS Dracula.
Holy hell, that is an impressive voice.

And Frank Langella is/was a very serviceable Count. He was very sexy and you could understand why Lucy and Mina were elbow dropping each other to get at him. I actually liked him a lot. Of course, I'm a big monster-movie fan, so I'm OK with just about all of them, Gary Oldman back to Bela. Christopher Lee, not as sexy, but you knew it was happening the second some chick showed up in a cleavage-heavy brocade gown. Done and done. My favorite Dracula.

Classic movie....
That actor who played Sean (Andre Gower) supposely posts in the Monster Squad IMDB page under the SN "cinemasouth" and replys to people on there. Nice guy....if that is him.

That movie was so smurfing great. I went over to a friend's house one night, and he had rented this movie. So here were a bunch of people, rating in ages from 18-38 watching this movie and enjoying it immensely. I'd say it rates up there with The Lost Boys for late 80's monster movies ...
Or was The Lost Boys a 90's film? Let me check ...It came out the same year? We're good. I own The Lost Boys, and some day this movie will be in my collection as well. Good review, RRA. Once again you do good work.

Never met the guy, but all I've heard from people who have at conventions say he's a class act. And as far as Chris Lee as Dracula, let me just add Ingrid Pitt.
