Agreed on lots of these. Someone already mentioned this, but this video MUST be seen (and how about the added layer of cool you get with GREEN LANTERN?!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3l8q5Bi4cwAnd if anyone can find a clip of Devo covering "Sweet Home Alabama", I will love you forever.

I have to strongly disagree as it pertains to the Who's "Summertime Blues" (though I'm a total Cochran/rockabilly mark) as well as Metallica's Misfits covers. I'm a huge Misfits fan, and those just sounded horrible to me.

any song Braid has ever covered.
and Nirvana's version of "Love Buzz"
edit: I also want to add Foo Fighters' version of "Baker Street" to that list. I don't remember who had the original though.

I see Madison's stealing thread ideas from The Clash. To add to this, I recently discovered Kimberly Locke's cover of "Band of Gold", and I've found myself liking it even more than Freda Payne's.

I like No Doubt's cover of "It's My Life".
I have to agree with the poster on G-N-R covering Aerosmith. Good stuff.

oh and killswitch's version of holy diver. made an absolutely horrible song worth listening to, IMO I respectfully disagree. Although I do like the Killswitch version...all they really do is add screaming and maybe some extra guitar riffs.....not saying it's a bad thing, though. Though I was surprised that my mom and dad liked the Killswitch version, considering they aren't fans of "screaming" in songs.

Hungry Like the Wolf and MmmBop by Reel Big Fish. The MmmBop cover really isn't a song, but it's loads better than Hanson lol
