I WANT it, but I kind of DON'T want it.
One reason I sort of don't want it is, Nintendo is basically FORCING a steering wheel attachment onto us. It didn't sell at launch when it came packaged in not one, but TWO Ubisoft racing games at the launch. So Nintendo is thinking, "Ok, we REALLY need to get this cheap, crappy, plastic steering wheel to sell. How about we slap a Wii logo on it and include it in every copy of Mario Kart Wii, despite the fact that the game can be controlled just as easily and fluid without the wheel?"
On the flip side....it is Mario Kart...with online. If Mario Kart DS didn't show us anything else, it showed that Mario Kart online is AMAZING.
Really the only thing making me truly question getting the game is GODDAMN SNAKING WILL BE BACK!!!!!! That is the most cheap ass tactic on Mario Kart DS. That, and glitching, but sometimes both looked the same. Goddamn snakers....it takes no skill!
My only hope IS that the online has the same problems as Brawl, that way snakers can't dominate.

I thought snaking was only an F-Zero problem, although at the high speed of that game it became a hinderance half the time.

Hah are they really including the wheel? I play NFS Pro Street without it just fine and it requires a bit of finesse.

It is a freaking box in the same style as the Wii Zapper package. Of course it isn't REQUIRED to play the game, but as I've said, it is Nintendo's attempt at forcing the wheel down our throats.

Nope, Nintendo even said that snaking would be in the game, to which everyone that played Mario Kart DS either groaned or smiled. Those who groaned are those who hate snaking, those who smiled are the cheap bastards that snake.

If I can turn blue shells off I'll buy it. Yeah, if there's one thing that pissed me off about Mario Kart DS is how the CPU can pull a blue shell from out of it's ass when you're in 1st place.

All of the most recent sources have been saying it's out, and I haven't read any official word from Nintendo on the subject. Here's something posted yesterday: kotaku.com/368463/no-snaking-for-mario-kart-wii

I've got it on reserve already What is this snaking people are talking of? I had never experienced "snaking" until I played Mario Kart DS online. Basically it's where anytime there's a straightaway, you zig zag back and forth across the track while powersliding and boosting. Apparently they've changed the powersliding so that people can't do that anymore, or at least not to the extent that they have.

It basically is a constant speed boost that, if the other people don't do the same thing, you basically overlap them. The ONLY track that is snake proof in Mario Kart DS is the Rainbow Road, because it is way too easy to fall off.
