I'm disappointed at how crappy Ike is. Really? I think he's awesome. He's definetly not my best character but he can bust some serious ass.

Personally, I hate Olimar. To me, he's the Pichu of this version.

Just bought this game a few hours ago, have yet to actually play Classic, I decided to do the events and such beforehand. A few notes if someone might be of assistance; A. The homerun contest, it's easy to hit at least 1,000 ft with any character (other than DK who just happens to hit it at best about 100 ft) so am I to believe there's an incredibly tough way to hit it to unlock some rare trophy, say 2,000 ft? B. The event where you have to have Olimar bloom the Pikman, I go after the flowers and such and literally played for about 6 minutes before finally getting KOed, I have no clue what I'm doing wrong on it. C. I unlocked Ness after doing 2 brawls....WTF? For B its you need 6 Pikmin to bloom so basically keep 6 Pikmin alive long enough for leaves on their head to bulb than bloom. but you start with 3 stupid pikmin

You have to pick the other three out yourself.

You have to visit every single room and fight every character and boss.

I don't care if I get flamed for this, but Sonic is the worst character to ever be introduced to the Series

I don't care if I get flamed for this, but Sonic is the worst character to ever be introduced to the Series Nah...he is definately not my favorite or best, but he isnt the worst. Brawl code is in the sig, but my internet has been hit and miss lately. I played a friend of mine really closeby and the lag was horrific. I hope it's his end and not mine, but who knows. He is the only guy ive played, so I have yet to find out. Just message me letting me know you got mine in, or else I'll miss alot of you guys on there.

Somehow while playing last night, I managed to get 6 KOs in a 2 minute game. I wish I had saved the reply, it was epic.

I don't care if I get flamed for this, but Sonic is the worst character to ever be introduced to the Series Wrong, he is the second worst. Captain Olimar is the worst. Now, worst unlockable? Yeah, Sonic is the worst unlockable.

Wrong, he is the second worst. Captain Olimar is the worst. QFT, thank you! Seriously, WHAT is the use of his down smash? It is the whistle that calls all the Pikmin back, ut what use does it have? When you use the Pikmin for anythign(besides the up smash) they die.

Okay, been playing this with my buddy for the last two days and here's my current Top 5 Characters...
1. Captain Falcon 2. Diddy Kong 3. Ike 4. Lucas (Holy hell is this guy surprisingly awesome) 5. Pit
And, just because I'm an egomaniac, a little commentary on all the characters we unlocked so far...
Bowser - They definitely improved him over his Melee counterpart. I'm interested to use him more. Captain Falcon - His jumps are floatier but his smash attacks are quicker. The jumping knee meteor smash no longer electrocutes the guy, defeating the purpose of my name for the (The Bionic Knee). Still awesome. Diddy Kong - Fast and kinda week but he's just fun to use. Donkey Kong - Haven't really played too much of this guy but I love his Final Smash. Falco - Ugh, didn't like this guy before, really don't like him now. Fox - They crippled him a bit. He was a surprising powerhouse in Melee but his forward smash was gimped a bit. Ganondorf - While they powered him up and changed his moves up a bit from Falcon, his moves are slower now so it's harder to get off. He looks awesome even though his walking animation is awkward. Ice Climbers - I just never liked them. Ike - This guy is just badass all over. Also, tons better than Roy. King Dedede - Another powerhouse who's fun to use but is just so slow that it's almost not worth picking him. Kirby - They made him tons better than Melee. He's just able to move a lot better and his moves in general feel a lot more fluid. Link - Another guy who improved. I'm happy that, while they crippled his Up+B a little, they added the ability to charge it. That move used to be so ridiculous in Melee. Also, his hook shot is now actually useful as the game kinda homes in on the edge, making it a lot easier to use. Lucario - It's like they took the parts I hated about Mewtwo, changed it, then took out he parts I liked about him. He's got potential but I haven't figured it out yet. Lucas - This guy was the biggest surprise to me. I've never been a Ness player, but Lucas is just fun to use. His Up+A smash is ridiculously powerful. Luigi - Meh, never been a fan. Best taunts ever. Mario - Another guy who has seen improvement. I haven't found the usefulness of his water cannon, but he is just generally easier to play with. Marth - While gimped a little bit since Melee (They took his power down a tad) he is still a great counterpart to Ike and way better than Roy. His new B move is more effective than the old one (The speed of it at least) and Forward+B combo is real nice and flashy. Meta Knight - I enjoy using Meta Knight but there's just a lack of an effective elimination move. Would be great on a team with Ike, though, as Meta Knight can do a lot of damage quickly. Mr. Game & Watch - Joke character. I like that they added a parachute to his Up+B but I could never really use him. Ness - A surprising amount of updates to Ness. His Up+A and Down+A Yo-Yo attacks are no long completely useless and his Up+B moves quicker. Made him a lot more user friendly. Olimar - There's definitely something to this guy but I haven't been able to figure it out. Peach - Blergh, not a fan..., Pikachu - While I lament the loss of Pichu (I'm just saying that he was better than Pikachu in the last one), Pikachu gained some of the stuff that Pichu had, like his Forward+A being more of a mix of both from Melee (Pichu's was devastating in that game). I can see myself using him more. Pit - Pit has the same problem that Meta Knight does, fun to play as, lots of damage, not too many effective elimination moves. I need to play with him in a more competitive environment to truly figure him out. Pokemon Trainer - At first I hated him, but then Squirtle grew on me... Then Ivysaur showed his usefulness... Then Charizard destroyed... Now I really enjoy playing as the guy. I wish Squirtle were his own character, though, as he's definitely the star of the 3. R.O.B. - Weird but surprisingly agile. I need to learn about him a little more. Samus - Never been a Samus player, but I did like Zero Suit Samus. Sheik/Zelda - Actually haven't played enough of either to make an assessment. Snake - At first I really hated Snake. He was slow, unwieldy, and just seemed like he didn't belong. The more I play with him the more fun I have with his moves. The Down+B is awesome, as is the Up+A mortar attack (Fully charged, it can fly above the top of the screen on Corneria). Sonic - He has a bit of Meta Knight/Pit in him where he's a good time, but I can't get rid of people with him. He's not as bad as people make him out to be. Wario - He sucks, he really does, but it's a good time to play with him. He's just so ridiculous. In the right hands he could be a contender, though. Yoshi - Never been a Yoshi player, but my friend is considering serious use. He said he's tons better.
Overall: I'm really happy with the roster as a whole. Unlike Melee, where a lot of characters went unused due to how unbalanced the game was, the whole roster has playability at a competitive level. I can't wait until me and my friends start getting serious about it (Right now it's all items, 3 minute matches, just trying to unlock everything).
Other observations...
- The Smash Ball is a game changer. It's not fun in 1-on-1 matches, but in 4 player FFAs it is awesome. - The Dragoon Parts was something I was skeptical about but it became a nice diversion during a match. - The Soccer Ball is now our favorite item in the game. That thing is crazy. - I was amazed by how great and playable ALL of the levels are. There were too many moving ones in Melee to make them good, but this one has moving ones that are still good levels in general... My favorite levels are currently Delfino Island, Smashville, Pikmin Stage, Castle Siege, and Pokemon Stadium 2.
But yeah, after being apprehensive about how I would feel about the game, I can definitely say that they trumped my expectations.

The only character I kick insane amounts of ass with is...
...Mr Game & Watch. Especially in this one. He's alot fast and stronger than in melee.

I finally beat the Subspace Emissary. My favorite characters to use in this game are Sonic, Mr. Game & Watch, Ganondorf, and Samus.

I'm disappointed at how crappy Ike is. Really? I think he's awesome. He's definetly not my best character but he can bust some serious ass. He'd be better if most of his attacks didn't take a million years to recover from. He's also bad at returning. Oh well at least Great Aether is the most badass looking final smash in the game.
