After less than a minute of use, I've already secided to be a whiny bitch, and complain about the new board software. IT SUCKS, BRING BACK THE OLD SOFTWARE!!!!!
Actually, it'll probably grow on me. I like the new poll features, for instance. I really only have 2 complaints so far, and maybe they can be addressed.
1. There is no longer a dropdown menu to select what page of a thread to read. I desperately miss this already.
2. The color scheme is a bit jarring. Any way to get it back to how it used to be?
I was also a bit annoyed with the long upgrade time. I lost a post or two, but I suppose it can't be helped.
What does everyone else think of the new board software? I haven't seen a thread about it yet. You know, back in the day, they didn't use board software. Websites just wrote their own code for message boards. Now everyone is lazy, and uses...well, whatever message board software is available anyway. They sacrifice security and free-ness for avitars, sigpics, and ease of use.
Yeah, I just wanna complain tonight :-P

1. Yeah, that is an issue. Maybe there is some type of fix for this, but I'm unsure. 2. The color scheme, IMO, is better than the old one. If you remember correctly, the original (straight yellow) was not very pleasing as well as hiding the next page/previous page functions quite well.
With this new system, it looks better, and it feels a whole lot smoother. Are there kinks? Sure. But, compared to the old system, it is a LOT better.

I enjoy the ability to modify a poll or add one in later in your post instead of deleting and starting over.

Only complaint I have so far is that it's not faster then the old board yet as was promised.
Until they fix that, I'm not sure what to vote.

I was about to declare my everlasting affection for this new software, because it's been working fine and I like the new thread menu thing and being able to sort threads differently and the yellow shady bars look pretty.........but it suddenly took me almost 5 minutes to get here from the main page.
I like the new software, but I hope this sudden slowness is just temporary.

I like all of the new poll options.
I don't like that there's no drop down menu for going from page to page.

New Proboards lags too much. Half the time the forums time out submitting a post.

It's fine. In the long, it's just a forum to me and I've got bigger issues in my life then to worry about features on a forum.

Seems to get slow once in a while for no reason......Color scheme is actually pretty cool.
Although the yellow should be ditched all together, as yellow is a visually displeasing color and makes people wanna leave if places are painted yellow.
Just saying...

As for load times, this is just one forum on the server that's been redone. If you look at the address you'll see "proboards89"... that's the server. There's a lot more forums on the server than just this one, they all have to be updated as well and that's most likely the cause for the slowdown people have been experiencing. They estimated it would take a day for each server, so it may be back to normal tomorrow.
The upgrade was not optional. The decision wasn't in our hands at all. The color scheme hasn't changed at all, there is just an auto-gradient added to the title bars that can be taken out.

I quite like it myself. And yeah...if you roll your mouse over the page number, it gives you a menu...it's not a pulldown like the old one...it's a Java(I think) one this time around, which works just as well.
In any case, I think it looks nicer and once the bugs get worked out, it'll be fine.

I'm sure there's going to be bugs for a few days. One doesn't just upgrade and expect everything to be peachy (okay, one might, but one is foolish, then).
