What are some of the fads yall here at Wrestlecrap bought into? Preferably stuff as a kid.
Like just about everyone else I fell into the Pokemon fad. I do remember I thought it was stupid for it to be on at like 8 in the morning on Saturdays. People wanna sleep, damn.
I did buy the cards though. Never learned the game. Kinda ended for me when I lost them at my moms N.A meeting. Never bothered to try and collect them and buy then Pokemon was starting to fall off. Once I found out the cards werent ever really gonna be worth much anyway I made sure not to waste a bunch of money on that...

I too was a poke addict once. They even had an underground ring of "trainers" when i was at high school kicking each others ass in pokemon. But, just like my fondness for Yu Gi OH now, it faded away slowly. Plus my Game Boy blew up, so i was SOL.

I had a pair of purple Zubaz pants as a kid. Not entirely unlike these, although the lighter portions were black on mine- I want to beat myself up.

Also I was big into sports cards into the card boom of the 90's.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Early 90s) were the crap back then and I got into them. Had the Michelangelo and the Robot Turtle figure plus the Parachute to strap the figures on to.
Yo-Yo's - Same period I got pissed off at my Mum cause she did not get me a Coca Cola company brand yo-yo like everyone else had.
Marvel Trading Cards (1993/4) - Wherever it's Fleer X-men, Marvel Masterpieces or Spider-Man I wanted all of these cards. Fad or not I thought the artwork on these cards were smurfing great. I still have a lot of them.

None call me lucky I guess. Growing up my mother was to poor to buy me the new trendy clothes, and by the time I was old enough to buy them myself I had out grown the urge to be part of the trend. I think I was the only kid in 8th grade not waring corduroy pants every day.

Pogs. I think I still have some packed away somewhere. I still have my entire Pog collection, including some wicked-sweet slammers and that plastic Pog...arena. I even have the rarest, most one-of-a-kind Pog there is; one that my brother put a picture of his face on that says "Tough luck, daddy-o, Pog is too cool for you." I think I also have an OJ Simpson slammer.

Yeah, I had Pogs, too. And Pokemon. Used to collect the cards (still have a bunch of 'em, in fact) but I don't collect them anymore. Still play the games, though.

Sure, I don't watch the cartoon anymore (as it has turned to crap), but I still have owned one game from every generation from Red/Blue/Yellow (at one point, I owned all 3) to Diamond/Pearl (I own Diamond right now).

-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But what kid of the late 80's-early 90's DIDN'T like the Turtles? I remember it being very hard to find one back then.
-Power Rangers in the mid 90's.
-The slap bracelet things. I had like 20 of those. I wore one that had little thousand dollar bills on it all the time when I was in 3rd grade ;D
-I had a few pogs, but I don't remember ever being majorly into them.
-I got accused of falling for the wrestling fad in the late 90's. I had been a wrestling fan since 1991 and these same people made fun of me for it years earlier. They apparently forgot.

I bought a buttload of different CCGs. The Magic ones are still probably worth most of the money invested in them (as I have quite a bit of Ice Age ones). But I was into a bunch of others... I have basically all the original Marvel Overpower set, some of the expansions (got out before the DC one started and they put in the fourth factor), I also had some Star Trek: TNG ones (the starter deck my friend bought me for $20 had two cards worth over $20... Tasha Yar and some ship) and a starter deck of Star Trek: The Classic... (got the most valuable card from that set "I'm a doctor, not a..." Oh, and some Star Wars. I traded some decent card away for Pops, as I had to have him.

Yep, Pencil me in for the TMNT fad of the late 80's - early 90's. Power Rangers had me to until they had to smurf it all up with Power Rangers Turbo.
