I find vinyl is the best way to listen to black metal. There's just something about it that captures the mood better than a polished audio CD ever could.

Yes, I also prefer Laser disc to DVDs. HAHA, i totally forgot about those gigantic monstrosities anyway vinyls have gotten expensive around my neck of the woods lately because a lot of people have started to buy them because its the 'in' thing to do when most of them wont even notice much sound difference, whereas most of the dj's i know nowadays prefer to use cd turntables rather than vinyl

I love listening to my vinyl. I'm listening to my copy of 52nd Street by Billy Joel as I type. I agree that vinyl sounds fuller, but that might also be because the music industry as a whole doesn't know how to write a song anymore. I'm lucky because I live around quite a few record shops and they mostly keep their prices fairly low.

It now officially takes no talent to be a DJ."

I live near a used record store that sells them in excellent condition for about 3-5 dollars an album. Some of the older first editions cost a lil bit more.

I love my vinyl collection. I've got a bunch of Zepplin and Floyd on vinyl, as well as Van Halen, CCR, The Beatles and a bunch of others. There's something oddly charming and relaxing about listening to music that way

yeah i do prefer vinyl to cd. although its been proven that cds do have a greater dynamic range than vinyl. theres just something that sounds better.
they are not dead like many say loads of bands still release them as collectible items.
i hate mp3's, some bands do put the effort out to make them sound better than cd, but obviously you need the sound system to put it to good use.
anyone into super audio cd's? they didnt take off but they are great to listen to.

I am the Queen of Vinyl and 8 Track. There's nothing more fun than relaxing on a rainy night and putting on "Nilsson Schmilsson", the first Blues Brothers album "Briefcase Full of Blues", Cat Stevens' Greatest Hits or one of my assorted KISS LP's.
The best part is that you can get lots of great albums in flea markets and garage sales for 50 cents to 2 or 3 dollars.
