I have always been thrilled by your career and proud that I had something to do with starting it off. You were not only an outstanding athlete but also a good student and a hell of a nice guy. I have several pictures of you and a calendar hanging on the wall of my study, along with pictures of teams I have coached, etc. I always tell visitors about you. When the Olympics comes up, I tell them how you should have been in the '84 Olympics in L.A., but you have had some great experiences. I recently finished a book on Jimmy McLarnin, the only BC boy to win a world boxing championship. Tom Hawthorne, a writer from the Globe and Mail interviewed me about it. My dad and I used to listen to McLarnin's fights on the radio back in the '30's. Hawthorne was very interested by your pictures on my wall and included you in his article. I'm praying for you, John. God bless you and your family. Des Corry
