Wow. OVW sure tapes their shows pretty far in advance! Oops, fixed the typo. Thanks for mentioning it though, as I doubt I would have noticed otherwise.

Dang, I wouldn't mind seeing Bradley as champ. I just hope they're not Cena-izing Sydal. He is, however, about 100 times better in the ring than Cena, so I'm torn. I don't like anyone getting superman booking, but if anyone would ever deserve it, Squeak's the guy.

What's Sydal's finisher in OVW? Cause I see that half nelson pumphandle move as soemthing he'd be able to do.

I was too, until I saw him consistently hit it the way it's supposed to be hit. They still will probably make him change his finisher when they call him up, but there's something to be said for the way he pulls it off. I've seriously never seen him botch any part of it. The flip, the distance of the jump, the landing. Like a machine.

I don't like anyone getting superman booking, but if anyone would ever deserve it, Squeak's the guy. So: 1 - Going over people is superman booking now. 2 - Sydal is a v. good worker, but for me, is too small to go over all and sundry, it's far less believable than Cena. 3 - Sydal is 100 times better than Cena? I'd say a big no to that, personally. Better in areas, worse in others.

I think you're reading too much into what I wrote there, chief. I didn't say they were giving him superman booking, I'm just worried that that's how it's going to end up. Sydal hasn't lost since debuting in OVW, and he's won clean every time against a bigger, and, well, more established opponent, so that qualifies as "beating the odds". He got pushed to the moon and quick. If he continues to go over guys like Kruel, DaBone, and Bradley without dropping the strap occasionally, we could be in for mini-Cena. And I stand by my comment about him being 100 times better in the ring. I haven't seen him suddenly stop selling something that's been worked on for the whole match, like Cena did at Mania last year. I see him pull out mat techniques that Cena couldn't even dream of on a regular basis. He's more agile, he's quicker, and he's a good worker. He's better.

He's not able to pull off the power moves that Cena can, he's booked in such a way as to use that matwork, and he's a naturally smaller, quicker and more agile worker - however, does that make him a better professional wrestler than, say, Harley Race, who in his prime couldn't touch Sydal for speed or agility? As for the selling, yes, Cena has been known to mis-sell, it's one of his faults... I think his selling can be good, but it's in the vein often of the exagerrated facial expressions and yes, forgetting what he's selling - I'd put that down partly to his selling just not being great, and partly to the booking - Hogan could and would sell things well, but when the match is based on a massive comeback at the end, it's often the case that someone will drop their selling for that comeback.

Yeah, but power moves are fun to watch a couple of times, but after a short while you're left wondering if you're watching a video game, and a 12 year old has his controller. And I can take a sell-drop if it's done as a climax to the match. But in Cena's case, and I'll use the Mania example again, HBK worked the knee for the first 10 minutes of the match, and Cena just stopped selling it in the middle of the match.

That's an issue of personal taste... I personally think that about a whole lot of indy matches far more than WWE... some of the head-dropping and practical no-sells of that is heinous. Yeah, I take your point there.

By the way, Pwinsider has an article up now on their free page where they have a short blurb saying that the reason Kevin Thorn was down there was to work on possibly re-packaging him as a babyface.
