Hey fellas. Most of you probably don't know me. A few of the old timers might though. I havent been here in close to two years. Anywho, I heard the news today and wanted to drop by to pay my respects to John Tenta.
What a very tragic loss. My heart goes out to the Tenta family.

We all loved you John. Be at peace. I know you, Owen and Eddie have a lot to catch up on. We will always remember the 'Quake, the wrestler, and we will always remember John Tenta, the man.

Very sad to hear of John Tenta's death, I hope he knew the high regard in which he was held by us all, and I hope his family can take some small comfort from our warm wishes.
I loved his stuff, and I was thrilled beyond reason when he took a little time to slag my hometown in the old UK thread. I was quite giddy, running about telling anyone who would listen that me and Earthquake (converstaion continued "Yes, THAT Earthquake! Yep, HIM! I KNOW!") had shared a bit of banter on the interweb.
Mark Twain wrote a short passage that sums up my experiences with the Quake, I hope you all understand what I'm trying to get across:
One poor chap, who had no other grandeur to offer, said with tolerably manifest pride in the remembrance:
"Well, Tom Sawyer he licked me once."
But that bid for glory was a failure. Most of the boys could say that, and so that cheapened the distinction too much. The group loitered away, still recalling memories of the lost heroes, in awed voices.
RIP John Tenta.

The world has lost a good man. He had to be as big as he was because there had to be room for his heart
To paraphrase Vince Vaughn, John Tenta was money, he probbly didn't know it, but he was money.

I just saw his still frame at the beginning of Smackdown. I agree, KillerKhanFan (awesome name BTW), John was a beautiful person. I had to Tivo it just in case he was featured. Thank God I did.

There isnt much I can add that hasnt already been said about John Tenta.
Simply put, the man was a hero. He never gave up hope that he could beat it. It didnt matter what the prognosis was, he was gonna fight it until the end...and thats what he did.
I know that right now, he's up in heaven sharing a laugh with Owen, Eddie, Bulldog, Pillman and the countless others that were gone before they should have. Heaven is a better place with him there.
My heart goes out to his family and friends, and everyone here who considered the man a friend.
We all love you dearly, and we miss you.
Rest In Peace, John

Never talked to the guy, however it's blatantly obvious that what we had here was a beacon of humanity. The true class of an individual is never defined by their house, their cars, or their wealth. Instead it is defined by the legacy with which they leave us. John's legacy is one of caring, strength, and love. Again, I never spoke with the man but his caring is evident through almost everything he did in his life. His strength carried him through hard times and he kept going where most men would have simply given up. He loved unilaterally(sp?). I'm guessing he was one of those people who never met a stranger, he accepted people for who they were. Their flaws, thier strangths, and their weakness.
Constance Jenkins I believe sums it up best...
Weep not for me though I am gone; into that gentle night. Grieve if you will but not for long, upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest. There is no need for tears. For with your love I was blessed; for all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath; remember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death, but celebrate my life.
John fought the good fight. It was his time to go home.
Rest in Peace John. Your memory shall live on in the hearts of all those who you touched.

Godspeed and God bless, John.
If Heaven has wrestling, they have a heck of a roster--and that roster just got better.

Mr Tenta was a great performer, entertainer and worker and the fact that he posted here to chat with fans shows what a cool and down to earth guy he was personally. I never got the chance to chat with him unfortunately, but i remember seeing him post under me once. It may sound silly, but i just thought to myself, that's the guy that i saw on TV squashing Hulk Hogan when i was a kid. It just kind of blew my mind! He came across as a funny, genuine and caring guy, a true gentleman. He will be missed here.

May God rest the soul of John Tenta.
My favorite moments were when he squashed Hulkamania and his attittude toward the fans. He didn't have to speak to us, but he took some time out to address us. Quake you will be missed.

Rest in peace John. My best wishes to the Tenta family.
I usually never post in any forums, but I simply had to register here because I'm so sad about John's death. When he was at the peak of his WWF-career I was about 10 years old and he was the most fascinating character to me.
Finding this forum several month ago suddenly made me remember how much I liked wrestling and especially Quake as a kid! And I learned what a lovely person John was. I miss you.

When my son was born, John gave me the following advice:
"Congratulations! Love him, and cherish him."
I often thought about that when my son had to go in for open-heart surgery at six weeks old. I honest to God thought we were going to lose him, but he's a tough kid. Every day, I think about those words and I'll think about those words every day for the rest of my life. While it seems that everybody and their grandmother had advice on how to take care of Robby, John's words--pure, plain, simple and from the heart--were the best words of advice I received.
Consequently, I really hope that John, in turn, knew how much he was loved and cherished by his fans.

Rest in peace John, you will never be forgotten.
Me and my brother have so many fond memories in our childhoods from watching you wrestle that we will tell our kids about you. And in the memories of the people you have touched you will live on. I only knew you through this forum for a short time, but it was not hard to tell that you were a nice guy with a great sense of humor.
My sincere condoleances to the Tenta family.
