Oh man.. I thought he was gonna pull through. It's so weird looking back at all the stuff he's said and watching his old matches and realizing now that he's gone.. RIP Quake.
Little John, keep up on your sports and do the things that would make your dad proud. And I'm very, very sorry to the rest of his family and close friends.

Dear John,
It's been has been nothing but a complete pleasure to have been one of you online "buddies" for the past few months. Your career made you famous but your humour, your humility and your humanity are why you are loved. I feel nothing but sadness right now, but in time that sadness will fade and I shall look back at all those conversations we shared together with great fondness and humour. Never, even in your darkest hour did you ever lose the ability to laugh at yourself, your condition and life in general. We did nothing but talk bollocks together time after time, but hey - sometimes that's all that needs to be done. I'll miss you Sir and won't forget all those stories. I hope nobody tries to rib you in heaven or if they do they best prey their isn't a concrete wall nearby!
Thank you for all the chats, thank you for being brave, thank you for making me feel better when I was down and thank you for taking the time out of your life to talk to me. I consider you a friend and LSU Tigers Forever, right?
Lots of love Big Guy,
Aaron

I expected we would be seeing something like this soon, considering the messages his closest friends have been giving us. Even still, it's a hurtful loss. I'm thankful for the time he has spent with us here, and I'm happy his suffering is over. One of the best men I've ever met, even though I never really met him. Thanks for everything, Quake.

I will definitely miss 'Quake. Although I only knew him through this board, I could tell that he was one of the genuine good guys in the world, and this is definitely a sad day for the world, not just the wrestling world. The only good thing about this is that he is no longer in pain, and he will be able to rest in peace knowing that he was loved and respected for his work in the ring and his life out of the ring. My condolences to his family and friends, and the people that knew him best. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Goodbye, dear friend.

RIP Earthquake, from what I heard he was a nice guy in real life. I remember when he sat on and killed Jake Roberts Snake.

While I find John's passing not entirely suprising, I still find myself on the verge of tears. Maybe it's because another one of the wrestlers I grew up watching died well before his time. Maybe it's because through reading his post and listing to him talk with RD and Blade I came to see John Tenta the father and husband instead of Earthquake the squash machine. Whatever the reason is today is a sad day for everyone that John touched. I only hope that when my time comes I will have the courage and dignity to face it and fight the way John did. My prayers are with the Tenta family and John's friends. God bless you John, I know that someone is getting squashed in Heaven right now.
