He was definitely a class act, and even I didn't have the privilege of meeting him, he sounded like one of the most generous and kind-hearted human beings ever. Your dad will truly be missed. God bless John Tenta.

Thank You Johanna. Your Father was a great man and will forever be missed . We're all grateful to have had him with us.He always talked about three things in particular order, Family, Football, then life. He was the most courageous man the world has ever had. He always had great things to say about all of you all. He is nolonger in pain and he's looking down upon you with a big smile on his face. He may nolonger be with us in body, but his presence will be felt forever. He became more than another person in the world to us, he became a good friend. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family and all of his friends, everybody who knew him. Keep your head up, stay strong.

I had the privilege of growing up in the same small town as John, he made coming from there a better place. I think we all (his friends and neighbors) knew he was going to make something of his life and in return touch alot of hearts, well reading all these threads...................he did. May god bless you and your family Joanna. Sincerely, D. Anderson p.s. I pray my children speak in the highest regards about me as you do with your dad

Like everyone else here, I had great respect and admiration for John, and he will be missed greatly by everyone who ever had the chance to speak to him, write to him, or just watch him entertain. Thank you, John, for all the memories. You will not be forgotten.

Hello, I just had to write about my dear frien John who has been taken from us all far too early! I had the pleasure of wrestling with "John" when he was in England about 7 years ago and we became quite close, we kept in touch ever since with emails and phone calls, and from our friendship I learned that John was a great Family man and Friend. He spoke about his family all of the time, saying how proud he was of them all, and how much he loved his wife, and when his son got married, he sent us pictures of the wedding, and pictures of the rest of the "Tenta" Family that he was so proud of. John had great faith in god, and even when faced with cancer, never lost his faith, in fact I do believe it grew stronger. In one email John sent, he stated: "I am not afraid to die, if I heal that would be great, but if I die I know I will go into Jesus's arms and still live" WHAT A GREAT MAN! All that is left for me to say is this, John, Goodbye My friend, and thank you for the times we had, I am so pleased in life that our paths crossed, and I had the fortune to meet such a lovely guy.
And to John's family: If tears could build a stairway And memories a lane We would walk right up to heaven And bring John back again.
"God Bless To you all" All our love always, John, Annie, Kai & Logan Riley xxx (England)

I have been asked to post this on behalf of another British Wrestler:
"You will be sadly missed John, I will always remember the times we spent wrestling when you was in England. My condolences go out to your family. R.I.P. Mate"

Coming from a guy who lost his grandfather at the way too young age of 66 christmas day because of cancer, I think I can kind of know what you and your family are going through.
What made me feel better was knowing my grandfather was not feeling any pain anymore and is going to a place where he can be himself. Just know Joanna, that there are many good things left in store for your father. I did not know him personally at all, but almost feel like I did because of this forum. He is in my prayers. -Roy

Hello Joanna,
You don't know me but my sister Carol is married to John's uncle Joe. I know your grandma Irene.
I just want to say that I am so very very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I've followed his career from the very beginning & know what a very nice person he was I never met your dad, but feel as if I know him as my sister always spoke so fondly of him.
Please give your mum & brothers my condolences, again, I am so very sorry. Take care sweetie & may God Bless.
Hugs,
Linda in North Vancouver BC Canada

This is to the family of a wonderful and caring man, my family and I met John in Sanford , he would bring his younger son to Cub Scouts meeting every wednsday night at the church, I was a Scout Leader and we would spend the evening talking and my son had his picture taken with John a photo that we will charish, John would tell me about the wrestling training school that he had and my family would go and watch some matches at the Sanford Civic Center. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow and we will pray for the Family and knowing that there is a special Angle in Heaven Smiling upon us.

Hi everyone. I've never posted on here before, but I registered so I could leave you all this. My name is Joanna. I am John's daughter. As you can imagine, the past few days have been very difficult for all of us. My daddy was an amazing man. He was very kind and always tried to make everyone smile. He had incredible faith in God. He had also accomplished innumerous things in his life. And you can all tell that he was strong, fighting for two years. I came here to thank you. All of us appreciate the condolences that have been sent out to us; my mother, my brothers, and all of my dad's family. There was a sort of comfort I received from reading all of your posts. Really, we can't say thank you enough for your comments and for your donations. God bless you all. You might be gone, but you're not forgotten. We'll always love you, Daddy.

I'll probably just be repeating what others have already said, but thank you for getting in touch with us all here. Your father was such a great friend to us all, and such a strong, inspirational man. We all miss him dearly. Thank you for getting in touch with us here, and don't be a stranger. We'd love to keep in touch with the Tenta family.
God bless you all

It's most grateful that John's family has recognised how much love the people have here, some know him only on the forums, some has spoken to him face-to-face. He seemed like really nice guy to care about us, and update us on his condition.
Thank you

It's times and things like this in life that are hard to deal with. I never got to meet Mr. John "EarthQuake" Tenta, but I felt like I got to know him some through wrestlecrap radio. I for one was not around when this forum was first opened. So I just caught the tail end of Mr. Tenta being with us. Thank you Joanna for showing us that beautiful picture of your family. Just looking at your Father's eyes in that picture you can see pure joy and happiness. Your family is in my prayers. Stay strong to your faith in God. A funny story from me, a fellowcrapper to this forum. After reading an article from EarthQuake once, he made a comment about never being "HeavyWeight Champion." I just wanted to share, that during my day's as a I kid, I used to play with my WWF Hasbro action figures. I will never forget this one time, and I can't remember who I had Earth Quake fighting. But I gave EarthQuake the WWF title. He was my champion for a little bit. I always enjoyed using his, Typhoon's, and Bam Bam's action figure because you could hook their legs when you would have another wrestler pin them. Thank you once again from my heart to the Tenta family for sharing Quake to us God Bless you richly. -FC7

I don't post on the boards often, But I just wanted to say that it was brave and very thoughtful to speak to everyone on the boards.
I've lost several family members to cancer myself and I know it's very difficult to understand and you constantly ask why has this happened. And the only consolation I can offer is to say that John can finally rest and be at peace now.
I felt privileged to have had the opportunity to "speak" to John a few times over E-mails and PM's. He was considerate, caring and friendly and the legacy he's left is that of a truly wonderful person.
Best wishes,
Darren.
