One of the things I liked about WCW pre-Monday Night Wars was the Clash of the Champions cards. A PPV-worthy card on free, prime-time TV. How awesome was that??
I know WWE does something similar with the SNME cards, but it's not the same. And with PPV's every month, I doubt they'd do something like this, but I still think it would be cool to have a PPV-quality card, heavily promoted on WWE TV air on the USA network sometime during the week.
Maybe it's just me. I don't know.

I loved watching WCW's and would enjoy it if the WWE did one of them.
One of my fondest memories of WCW was a Clash Of The Champions where Sting/Luger were doing an interview and the returning Road Warriors interrupted it.

I was thinking they have enough bother with SNME, but COTC doesn't need to run on NBC. Have it on USA every two or three months, probably on a Wednesday, and it shouldn't be too much of a bother.

They should bring it back and call it Duel of the Dragons.

I have received an email from RAW's anonymous General Manager. And I quote: "No play for Mr. Gray!"

I think it would have the same problem as SNME. With the major stars appearing (for the most part) once a week, with monthly PPVs, with 5 hours of tv a week, it's hard to work in any kind of supershow and have it be special. It's hard enough to build to one big show a month, much less two. If they brought it back I'm afraid it'd be in name only.

Back then the regular shows were filled with squash matches. This may be an unpopular opinion, but to make ppvs and Clash of the Champions type shows special, Raw would almost have to go back to that

COC/Duel of Dragons would be a good idea IF they only did once and year and IF they promoted it like a regular PPV, but made it air like a regular program on USA.

Perhaps you would, but I don't think the majority of fans that go to the live shows could sit through 4 hours of TV squashes like they did back in the day.

There isn't much drama or reason to watch if its all just squashes, there have to be some big matches offered as a "hook".

Um, WWE never broadcasted "Clash of The Champions" how can they bring it back? Since WCW was bought out by WWE, WCWs history is effectively a part of WWE history.

No they shouldn't but they should release a DVD best of the Clash and maybe a history of the Clash thing as the main part.

They already have the occassional "special" 3-hour Raws, so why even bother with that or SNME?

I think they should rename a PPV that..like Vengeance.
Have:
WWE Champion vs World Heavyweight vs ECW IC vs US Tag Team vs Tag Team Women's Championship match
and some other matches as well..

Clash of the Champions would be nothing more than a super version of Raw or Nitro(if it were still around) What made Clash of the Champions special was because it was sort of a percursor to great competitive matches you would see later on on Monday nights.

Nope... anything that Vince doesn't create himself ends up getting screwed up (Goldberg, DDP, nWo, Jericho, the new WCW, etc)
