Great segment but god damn would this make good TV. Punk has TEH HEATTZZ that's why they didn't show this on TV.

As I was watching ECW that night I kept seeing how respectful Punk was acting towards Flair, and rightfully so, and thought how much better it could become if Punk cut a straight edge promo on the "life" Flair leads, and the incidents that Flair has been involved with, turns on him, then get's put over at Mania. I realize that's somewhat of a "smark" dream or something, but I see a young guy needing the rub much more then someone like Shawn/Jericho/Rey/Any other already established guy.
I just think it'd really cement Punk among the WWE fanbase, even if it was as a heel.

THe heel turn could've been interesting, but that's really not the time for it. Far as things go, that's a "rub" big time. THey made the announcement for the HOF (we all knew it was coming, but still) and Punk's the one they had work him. Flair goes over, as he had to, but then puts Punk over (as he said, for the second time in a year) on the mic. It should have been shown on TV, though, as that would've definitely elevated Punk's status amongst casual fans.
No, he didn't job to Punk, but it's a rub, and a pretty damn cool one.
