And a wrestler died a few years back after doing a sling shot cross body out of the ring and getting his feet caught in the ropes, and the trauma from hitting his head off the floor killed him

edit: I'm sure this isn't a complete list but here are some wrestlers that died in 2000
Bobby Duncum, Jr (34)--January 24, 2000--Drug overdose. Gordon Solie (71)July 27, 2000--Died from cancer. Toru Tanaka (70)--August 22, 2000--Died from a heart attack. Yokozuna (34)--October 22, 2000--Died from a heart attack.

I think that was terry gordy who died in the ring by a heart attack. It wasn't Terry Gordy, it was Gary Albright... Taken from Albright's Wiki: On January 7, 2000, Gary Albright wrestled at a World Xtreme Wrestling show in Hazleton, Pennsylvania against Lucifer Grimm (real name Bill Owens). After being hit with a three-quarter facelock bulldog, Albright collapsed to the canvas. A worried Lucifer Grimm rolled Albright on top of himself to finish the match after which concerned wrestlers and ring crew tried to resuscitate him. Albright was pronounced dead shortly after being removed from the ring.

I think it had to do with there being some eulogies about both on dr. death's web page a while ago.

I don't know how many of ya' guys know this, but he also had one of the largest Custom Hasbro sites on the web back in 96-00 that I would always check out back in Junior/High School. I remember bein' so jealous when I was like 14 of all the customs and the old school RAW entrance that he built with the 3 big red letters...

Didn't Chris Cash die in the ring too?

November 1, 1967- August 16, 1997 Yeah, if I remember the report right, she took a running powerbomb, from who I can't remember, and accidentally smacked her head on the bottom turnbuckle, which is what did her in.

Either Mayumi Ozaki or Rieko Amano; sadly, JWP couldn't convince Plum to stop wrestling as her injuries piled up. She needed the money and the sense of contributing to something larger than herself in order to get by.
