He was actually fired twice, once for leaking information I believe. Don't recall the second circumstance.

JR got fired in 1994 I believe due to leaking info (don't know if there's any truth to that). When Vince was busy with the steroid scandal they brought JR back but he was gone again after Vinnie Mac came back and brought back in '95. So he's been fired twice (3 times kayfabe-wise due to evil Linda McMahon)

He was fired for stealing Vince's sticky buns.

He was fired for stealing Vince's sticky buns. With all the ass kissing going on the past few years the last thing I want to think about is Vince's sticky buns.

Ross missed WM15 due to a second attack of Bell's. As I can recall, I think the attack actually happened during the UK PPV Rebellion and Ross had to finish the PPV. Say what you will, that's impressive.
The first instance of the firing was I want to say just before WM 11, but I was taking a break in that era and could be wrong.
EDIT: 200 posts! WOOT!

The last instance wasn't kayfabe was it? I mean JR was gone, I can't remember if he was legit fired it's been a couple of years but I know he was off TV.
And what information did he leak? Was it accidental, or did he report things as an insider to someone like Meltzer?

I want to know exactly why he is no longer in charge of talent relations.

The character was definitely gone (which lead to the Gooker Award winning "J.R.'s colon surgery" sketch) & Joey Styles being given the position of Raw announcer. Maybe not "fired" so much as "stepped back"...

Ross was most assuredly fired twice in the mid 90s. Aside from that, yep, everything else is angles.

I want to know exactly why he is no longer in charge of talent relations. I'm pretty sure that part was his decision, but they may have pushed him towards it a bit.

He was fired about a week or 2 after the 1994 Royal Rumble, because Vince didn't want him on tv after his bout with Bells Palsy.
He was rehired shortly after WrestleMania X, but was gone again shortly after. He was rehired some time before WrestleMania XI, and has been with te company ever since.

Ross mentioned the Bell's for the first time during his "heel" turn rant the night after IYH: Mind Games, introducing Fake Razor. It was the first time I was even aware that he was sick, for the record, which shows you how bad the second attack was.
Anyway, he claimed during the rant that he was fired for the Bell's, but honestly, I'm calling kayfabe on that one. The first instance had to do with the leaks, details of which I do not know much of. The second time, I honestly can't say.
As for the Talent Relations thing, I suspect the hand of Johnny Ace had something to do with that.
