Let's say for sake of argument that Russo writes everything and is 100% responsible for all the storylines. Well, last week Impact had it's highest rating in history. So if anything, Russo should get a 1000% raise and 10 year guaranteed contract. Correlation does not equal causation ...or whatever that phrase is. There are plenty of other reasons as to why more people are tuning in [coughsknockoutsgailkimversuskongknockoutscoughs] other than Russo's writing. I think most people's problem with russo is his beard. If he shaved that off, more people would like his stuff. Actually I don't usually know who writes what for promotions, but I do know that TNA could use a change in its writing style. The popular notion is that Russo is the man in charge so people gravitate towards the idea that no Russo will mean better shows. Who knows if that will actually be true. I do know who ever's booking the Knockouts should be booking the rest of the show. .... fer now.

You know, moments like these, I image Russo sitting around backstage, eating a sandwich and drinking some diet soda, and wondering what he does to piss people off. no, he'd believe he's successful because "it got people talking" which i guess is ok, as long as they dont "stop watching"

I'm sorry, but I can't. I'm getting WCW flashbacks.

Everyone hear should seek and find the Vince Russo RF Shoot, or even buy it. You'd hate the man that much more, I swear.
He's constantly saying "why me? why me? Why do they hate me, if they don't even know me."
All the while defending the Oklahoma character, defending HIM winning the WCW belt and even saying that having David Arquette win the WCW title was a good idea. Seriously.
I've stopped watching a group of wrestler's that I literally love to watch perform, because the writing and the stories on TNA Impact are so atrocious. I know we are not 100% on what is the things that Russo is writing, but knowing his track record (dating back to the day he got hired with WWF) and on, I can pretty much pick his SHIT out of any steaming pile of shit. His smells so much worse and looks so much worse.
I wish I lived in Florida again, only closer to Universal this time. I'd make EVERY impact taping with a gigantic sign (think 4 poster boards taped together) with a gigantic diatribe about how much Russo is killing wrestling again, after killing WCW.
The only reason he never killed WWF is because he had to turn all his writing into Vince who then went over it and approved or disapproved certain things. We can say what we want about Vince and his sometimes "not so good" television show, but he was smart enough to put a leash on Russo, which is a good thing.
I love TNA's workers, but it's shut me off to wrestling so much I can't stand it.

Fans should also be chanting Fire Mantell and Fire Jarrett since TNA like to play the "Russo wasn't involved in that angle" card so often

Yeah, brought Daniels vs. Styles vs. Joe.......and NOTHING ELSE. Everyone seems to remember about that match, but about nothing else from that era. Hell, people even forgot about the complains about that match, about it going on for so long, that it was overkill with the matches.

It was just Joe no-selling eveything and AJ and Daniels flipping around." Also when D'amore ws booking people were complaining about the lack of characters and angles (although that changed bwahahah). It would be nice if we got actuall confirmation of everything Russo has actually wirtten.

They did have like 97 triple threat matches.

I just remember people talking about how they were overdoing it, cause it went from the X-cup finals to the Triple Threat to Samoa Joe breaking the code, then some more matches, then another Triple Threat, then another with Ultimate X, then one more match with Joe killing Daniels on iMPACT.

Hell, people even forgot about the complains about that match, about it going on for so long, that it was overkill with the matches. Nothing else? This was around the time of Raven's NWA Title reign which was extremely well-received. Raven's matches involving Abyss, Rhino, Jaff Jarrett & Sabu went over a treat with many fans. The team of D'Amore, Tenay & Borash (I think) booked great PPVs successively for months. It wasn't just the AJ/Daniels/Joe feud that came out of that era. And it's worth noting that even if that feud DID drag out, fans didn't get bored of it too quickly. The Eric Young/Robert Roode angle dragged on & on & on & on... to the point where fans were just sick of it altogether. Could be down to the matches or it could be down to the wrestlers involved or it could be down to the booking!

I think part of the problem is that Jeff Jarrett has too much on his plate since his wife died. Russo is best when he has someone filtering his ideas. TNA has several people on their staff that could make for a good writing team. Russo, D'More, Nash, Cornette, Raven, and maybe Mitchell could make a good committee.

Why fire Russo?
Samoa Joe not top-belt champion....yet.
Why defend Russo anyway?

what is Russo supposed to do after you fire him anyway? the man needs to pay the bills. I envision him inventing his own juicer and having a bunch of infomercials selling us the Russo Juice-O
