Seriously, Episode names for a Wrestling show? Who thought this up?
I'm not really saying it's bad or good or ruins the show or anything, but it's just really weird at the very least.

Well I believe (from what I remember of a leaked RAW script from '98) that even the WWE names their episodes, the only difference being that TNA actually puts the names up.
I still wish they called it "Love: American Styles" this week though

Personally I like them, they fit in with TNA's general atmosphere.

I'm fine with them. It's usually the video before the name that kinda sucks.

They basically give away that it is a scripted show, which makes it a bit harder to "suspend disbelief" but I guess they're okay.
I don't really like them, but oh well.

"Prince for a Day" "Til Death Do Us Part"
They're usually real generic I think.

I actually don't like the episode names. There are a lot of things I like in TNA right now, but all the soap opera stuff they have been doing is not one of them. I'm just waiting for the deep voiced announcer to do the intro to the show "TNA: These are the days of our lives"

Well, when I typically watch a TV show, I don't go "Well, he could have acted that better" or some other critque on the writing or camera work. I watch the show to get away from reality for a while. Wrestling has always been an easy way to do that since it even takes the act to reality when wrestlers appear at different places. However, the title at the beginning of Impact is just a slap in the face that "This is fake!" that it irks me. Especially when it spoils the show. Alligator Honeymoon could only be the title if it was known that Karen was going to be trying to make Kurt jealous and that AJ would take Karen on a "spontaneous" trip to Gatorland. It might just be me, but that's how I look at it.

I love the beginnings when they run down what happened last week with the cool voiced guy , but I could do without them putting the episode name up at the beginning of shows.

Soon enough, after the intro we'll hear the deep-voiced announcer say "TNA Impact was filmed before a live studio audience."

I mean, I didn't see "Alligator Honeymoon" and then say "Oh, that means AJ will be taking Karen on a honeymoon to Gator Land". So it didn't really spoil anything for me.

No. The title didn't spoil anything, although it gave away that TNA is taped and scripted. However, the title "Boss...or Partner?" for the show with Angle/Tomko gave away that AJ was going to be involved with that match (which was revealed as him being special ref). Sure, the assumption for any TNA Impact Main Event (And most matches...) that a run-in will occur is easy to guess, but AJ in that match was confirmed instantly by that episode title.

I thought Boss or Partner was used correctly. AJ had been, for some weeks, going between Tomko and Angle. And the week before, Angle had challenged Tomko to a 1 on 1. Personally I didn't feel this gave away anything but which side AJ would choose as opposed to him being the ref. This weeks title was stupid though. It made it so obviously scripted. It should have been something like "Till death do us part" or "man and wife" or some crap like that.

The point of the "episode names" is to create a more eposodic attmosphere for the TNA brand. Remember when WWF, Crockett's NWA and AWA used to only use cliffhangers when they had a bigger show to promote? Now it's common place to have one episode lead to another (thank you again RAW and Nitro) That is why TNA does this. It's that simple. It helps gear the main portion of the show from the first graphic.
