One random thread and one random comment and then it snowballed.
Same as anything on this board that becomes a fad.
Blackman is awesome tho if the people here are gonna latch onto someone random and latch on for shenanigans it pleases me to see it being him.

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Chuck Norris jokes are lame, so let's change the noun and it'll be fresh and new.

Don't misunderstand me, I think it's great, but it seemed to come out of nowhere.

When he started showing up on the news discussing the Benoit ordeal this past summer. That's when I noticed a revival in Blackmans popularity.

I believe it started with the Greatest Hardcore Champion thread, and it just snowballed from there.

I think his appearance at Raw XV was the nascent beginnings of it, though I don't know since I've always marked for Blackman

most of the board has liked blackman for over a year now, they're just now getting around to worshiping him and his lethal weapon style.

I've been a fan of Blackman since his Summerslam '00 match with Shane O'Mac. That's when I really took notice of how awesome STEVE BLACKMAN is.

Where did the sudden Steve Blackman worship come from? i dont know at all. i remember the guy being liked by 5% of the audience back in the day. even if he was a good talent only the real hardcore fighters appreciated him. these days that mma shootfighting karate stuff is all mainstream popular so i bet people would love to back any guy who is a "real" fighter.

I thought his feud with Shamrock was pretty weak, but once he started interfering in Angle's matches and kicking ass in the hardcore division he became a god. A lot of us here are huge marks for the Lethal Weapon and when he showed up last summer during the Benoit fallout and at Raw XV with apparently no signs of aging, we were pumped. It's not a fad, it's fact: Steve Blackman Rules!

It started when I mentioned a story D-Von told about Blackman. Basically, Blackman was sitting silent in a corner and D-Von came over and asked him what he was thinking about, Blackman responded, "I was thinking of different ways to kill a guy." This, combined with Blackman knocking out Bradshaw with a single kick, led me to call Blackman "wrestling's Chuck Norris." A poster saw my comment in the thread and then started a "Steve Blackman Facts" thread.
That's how it happened in a nutshell.

I've always been a big fan of Blackman. But then, he's pretty much a hometown guy for me.

Been reading more and more about Steve Blackman on here since I joined and didn't get it at first.....
"Basically, Blackman was sitting silent in a corner and D-Von came over and asked him what he was thinking about, Blackman responded, "I was thinking of different ways to kill a guy." This, combined with Blackman knocking out Bradshaw with a single kick"
Now I get it.

Blackman was awesome, plain and simple. Taking out JBL in one kick (I bet he would have got in a few more on him) just cements it
