news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080712/ap_on_re_us/obit_snowI really, really, really hope this thread doesn't get political. Yes, Snow is a former White House Press Secretary, but he was also a dedicated journalist. Can't say I know as much about him as Tim Russert, but from what I have read he did work his ass off to be good at whatever he was doing. Plus, to die at 53 is tragic in itself. RIP, Tony Snow.

I remember his radio show a few years back, he seemed like a funny guy.

That's sad to hear.
I agree that this thread shouldn't turn into an argument on the man's ideas and the job he worked.
If you agreed with him, then you probably enjoyed watching the way he handled the press conferences or listening to his radio show.
If you didn't agree with him, then you probably got good enjoyment out of the Daily Show sketches that would rip on him.
Either way, I'm feeling sorry for his family. The article says he had three kids and I hope they get through this okay.
RIP Tony Snow

Regardless of political beliefs on the board, the man was well respected in Washington political circles. I always enjoyed seeing him on The McLaughlin Group.

The man was on the complte opposite spectrum as I am, but 1) A man has died 2) more importantly (for my point) he died of the f***ing c word and that hits home to me. It doesn't matter who you are, if the c word is involved it's like losing a brother to me `

Well, he had a health scare a couple of years ago. I'll remember him for being the first press secretary that I saw that was unabashedly flippant towards the reporters. I'm not saying his attitude as press secretary was inappropriate, but it might have been.

Not that I am trying to make excuses for the flippant behavior, but was that around the time that the health scare happened? If he first did that after the diagnosis, that could just be a natural reaction to finding that out.

I probably shared very few values with Snow, but that doesn't mean you can't feel sorry for a grieving family and feel sorry that he had to go up against something like cancer. He was younger than my parents.

I have no idea who Tony Snow is. Is he related to Al? Since I don't know if I can exactly talk about who he is, go Google him or something.

I have no idea who Tony Snow is. Is he related to Al? He was a former Fox News personality and White House Press Secretary. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort.

That's a shame. He seemed like an upstanding guy, and cancer is just a demonic little thing.
People really need to get over this Republican/Democrat thing. Its a bunch of BS.
R.I.P. Tony.

This is too bad. I'd seen him on TV for a few years and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. These types of stories are always scary. We all know people of this age and older who we would hate to see suffer. People say these stories should serve as a reminder to us. But every time I hear them it's a reminder I wish I could do without.

Why is it when a person like this dies there are a bunch of folks that immediately start hating on them?
The guy had kids, and now they don't have a father. His wife is now a widow.
His mom died of this when Tony was 17.
What's wrong with people?
