Bit of a slow Smackdown...didn't really flow, but at least they have the Edge and Vickie storyline running from week to week and throughout each episode which is something consistent to follow.
I marked for the Shelton win. Honest to God I can't remember the last time Matt lost clean on Smackdown, especially in a one on one match. It seemed like every week, he would come out, face the Chuck Palumbos of this world, hit the twist of fate out of nowhere and win. I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to do, I'm just saying that I can't remember the last time he lost clean. It was so good to finally see it happen.
I'm starting to dislike Matt for some reason. I think it's more down to the whole pointlessness of drafting him from Smackdown to ECW and then using him on SD anyway. I'm sure they have very good reasons for doing so, but it annoys me slightly. Still, I'm now developing more of an opinion towards Matt than I ever have, so that's good at least.
I think Curt Hawkins has potential. Seems like a confident talker. Once he developes a distinctive personality and is given the time to showcase it I think he can go far. Ryder...not so much. He looks a bit awkward in his role, but he still has time to grow. Hawkins definately looks like the one that will break out to me though, even though I do like Ryder.
Where's Carlito?
I'm predicting a Maria heel turn. Don't know totally why as of yet, but I have a hunch, being that they've kept her off TV for a while. I think Michelle and Cherry have the face spots sewn up, and while Maryse has a good look and personality, I reckon they'll go for someone who's slightly more polished in the ring and more recognisable as a heel to compliment Natalya.
I hope to see the MVP/Kennedy feud develop a bit more. Could be good, and I hope it helps both guys. Kennedy looked as good tonight as I've seen him in months. It must have been really hard trying to get over on Raw with 3 minute matches and being placed quite low down on the roster. He was obviously given that spot for a reason, but it's clear to see why some people could have thought he stalled. Showed good stuff tonight though, I just hope the feud gets a bit more meat on it other than just who's 'most valuble'. Really play up the fact that these two guys are seen as the future, and two guarenteed world champions, and they'll be good to go. The mic work, VIP lounge segmenets etc between them could be very good.
