I hear ya.Short of the LOTR trilogy RHPS is my favorite movie as well. The very idea of that movie being redone with possibly new songs in it?What the hell is that gonna be?Frank comes down doing some new ditty with Ja Rule or some such?I just know this is gonna be the most horrible thing to hit theatres. When I heard this news I was feeling done in,couldn't win.

ooh fantasy casting time! Two possibilities:
SCENARIO 1)
Frank: John Travolta Riff Raff: Ice Cube Brad: Brad Pitt Janet: Angelina Jolie Rocky: An anamatronic Rock voiced by Frank Welker
The rest of the cast would be nobodies.
SCENARIO 2)
Frank: Eddie Murphy Riff Raff: Eddie Murphy Columbia: Eddie Murphy Brad: Eddie Murphy Janet: Eddie Murphy Magenta: Eddie Murphy Rocky: Eddie Murphy Eddie: Nia Long.
As you can tell, i'd be super-psyched for both of these castings!!!!! [dies from sarcasm]

One of my friends who's a big Rocky Horror fan said that Marylin Manson has apparently been tapped to play Frank. While that is actually a decent choice it still doesn't make the entire remake concept any less fail than before. And since the rumor is just that, a rumor, I'm not going to believe MTV can do any right by this.
On another note, I just found out that the original RHPS has been preserved in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
You'd think with a distinction like that there would be a law against remaking it.

You know, I could see a Greace remake turning a profit. RHPS. . . . . not so much.

You know, I could see a Greace remake turning a profit. RHPS. . . . . not so much. Truth. Grease has characters that could fit anybody. RH seems like it was MADE for that cast, and absolutely nobody else. Manson hasnt shown anything to prove that he could pull the flamboyancy and showmanship off. If anything, if were just going on looks, Fairuza Balk would make a good Frank, but then it would be a woman playing a man dressed as a woman.

I said it was a "decent" choice based on my ultimate worst-case scenario And that was that MTV would decide to cast Chris Crocker in the role.

I despise it when cult classics are remade. Yes, RHPS is a "bad" movie. That's it's appeal! (...) Can't we leave ANY old movies alone any more, bad or good? Surely the entertainment industry can't be that devoid of new ideas. You know, I'm not sure bad movies really get a remake. As far as I know, nobody has ever done a remake of Plan 9 from outer space, Santa conquers the martians or Suburban Commando! The day they start remaking those movies, then we'll know for sure that Hollywood does in fact have writer's block and/or have lost their collective mind and creativity.... and now, we wait!

As long as Anthony Head Welch(ya know Giles from Buffy The Vampire Slayer) plays the lead I will agree.............if not then booooooooo!!!!!!!!! Honestly, he's the only one I can see replacing Tim Curry. Unless they go the obvious route THE ROCKY HORROR MUPPET SHOW Narrator: Sam Brad: Scooter Janet: Miss Piggy Riff Raff: Beaker (since he's phallic) Magenta: ? Columbia: Janice Frankenfooter:Gonzo Rocky:Kermit Eddie:Sweetums Dr Scott: Bunsen HoneyDew

MTV. You f***ing suck. Can the FCC shut this station down for being unoriginal and attempting B.S. like this? Why not just do ten more dumb ass reality shows featuring women with no morals and guys that are dumber than a crate load of hammers?
