I've only had one cake come out horrible ever. It's my Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake (basically Devils Food with cherries mixed into the batter)
I put it in the oven and cooked it like normal. 35 minutes later it was soup. Another 30 minutes later same thing. The cake would not cook. My mom swore up and down that it was because of the extra liquid in the cherries but I had done it the same way before.
About 2 months later, my mom goes to make a pizza and notices the thing will not cook. Yeah, the element went bad and we didn't realize, that's how often we use the oven part.
